Actually, I think I'll wait until the new 15.4"-aluminums come out before I try that "screw-driver" trick

actually 3 , The Ti800 is actually the replacement for my aging pismo500...that I intend to sell to my dad...eventually. I believe laptops/destop replacements are the way of the future- for us people living in cramped apartments in Tokyo...tho…

ok rod, im gonna try it right now!..So you telling me that I set the preference within the utility-tab?...cuz logically I thought the option would have been in the custom install....i let you know if it worked

Rod:>> that's exactly what buddy did (the checkbox thing) Costique:>> I used the os9 disk (that came with the iBook) and used it as the startup disk...that is where the problem lies. There is no hard drive Icon showing…

another vote for ti. I wouldve much rather seen a 12"mini-ti instead of the aluminum... Also, Titanium does not dent...Aluminium is highly prone to denting and bending. I have seen many 12" display models with dented corners and dents over the r…

the dangly wire dont come on the powerbooks....only on the powermacs.
-
none of the powerbooks in japan ever ship with a 3rd-prong plug (ground-plug)....even the powermac towers only ship with the 2 (plus a dangly wire that a person has to stick somewhere?) The problem is that in Tokyo, you would have a really hard time…

the only concern for my 800dvi, is that I believe this upgrade would definately void any waranty/Applecare...that would suck.

before the 12"/17" were released, i was really hoping for a mini-Ti.... its just that the 12" isnt quite just there yet for me. I aint knocking it (i spent a sleepless week trying to decide between a used mint-conditioned 800mhz-Titanium for 200,00…

agreed....i just picked up a used 800DVI (i had a pismo500 previously) Spectacular machine aint it? I was debating between this or a new 12"...zero regrets. There is something missing (design-wise) on the new aluminums...they are fine mach…
