Have one of the first 11 iPods ever made, I think. Run, bike, walk, exercise with it, never had a single problem with skipping.

Here's my advice. I looove my digital camera. All I use it for is to take pictures of my stuff so I can post it online. Usually on eBay. It's the Olympus Brio. Has 16MB of memory, and I paid $69 for it new on eBay. But that's just me.

Played with one at the Apple Store in Soho. This was a 1.8 Ghz machine. Felt like any other G4 - Photoshop took 7 or 8 bounces. Hopefully Panther will solve all the speed issues. And if not, I'm buying a G4 - they're pretty cheap these days.

Let me repeat myself. This time, I'll type a little louder. Just restart in OS 9, if your machine will let you, and delete one of the folders. End of problem. Don't mean to be sassy - I feel like no one's listening to me.

Yikes! That's strange. Just do what I do when OS X acts up - restart in OS 9, and delete everything! Seriously, if you're positive they're identical, move one of them to the trash in OS 9, but don't empty it till your computer's worked right for …

All right - here's one more opinion. Forget the PowerBook. Get a refurbished iMac with a 17" screen for $1599. Then, buy an iBook 800 Mhz for $999 when you want to move around. I'm really serious. That's about the same price as a 15" Powerbook 1 Ghz…

Well, I think all of you latched on to the box of rocks part. I thought it was a hoot - considering I've also been attempted to be robbed out of about $5000 in the last week with my PowerBooks. I also was considering giving him a tracking #, the…

I already called Apple - they only keep serial numbers for police usage - individuals can't access this info - only if I register. And I don't want to register it. Good idea about notifying the seller it might be stolen. Thanks. I'll try that..

Good idea, Alcimedes. I'll call them this afternoon.

I don't Apple's website has changed all that much at all. They're in line for a refresh.

I had to deal with that about 6 months ago. Yes, turning down the ethernet speed does work for a PC. Macs are always set to "auto-detect." If you're on a network that doesn't play nice with your Mac, there's nothing you can do, other than changing o…
