128 is fine for DVD playback. Heck, my Pismo has 8MB video RAM and works just fine. The big thing here is games. I know you said he is not a gamer, but in my experience people who install Windows on a Mac mostly do it for games and those rare bus…

Not just dead pixels, but a broken connection to an entire line of pixels. If it is under warrantee Apple will replace that since it exceeded their "# of dead pixels" policy. Otherwise you will need a Soldering iron, magnifying glass, solder, th…

This is by far the hardest poll I have ever done. But since option 3 covers all options I had to choose that. So, whadda you say, Mac_Doll?

1) It is beta software that involves repartitioning your hard drive. Backup to say the least. That said, I didn't have any serious partition problems Disk Utility couldn't fix easily. 2) You need Windows XP service pack 2 specifically. No upgrad…

Hate to say it, but last time I was in a computer store there were 5 long rows of PC apps and games and 1/4 row of Mac programs with several empty spaces. I think that has already happened for the most part. It is up to the consumers to demand/r…

Microsoft's competitor Vista won't be out for a long time and I think users who dual boot will realize how advanced the Mac OS is when judged side-by-side with the latest and greatest. This move may earn respect in PC users eyes with the exception …

Well, if we are all bringing something, I whip up a bunch of mini cheesecakes. (Size of silver dollars) I am famous for them.

Yea, but that can change whenever they want. The only reason it is not in use today is because they want to get you hooked first. How thoughtful of them.

Well the high-def players don't have region coding, but a big yes on other nasty technology. From down-resing non preferred outputs, to self-destructing software updates. Boycott in progress.

I think I tried and it DU wouldn't allow me. I may be wrong though. I tried to change the name of the second partition and couldn't. I'll find out soon enough.
