The ATI Radeon 9600 is a great enhancement to the 15". However, keeping it 1280x854 is pathetic! Come on Apple, you know designers are using this and you could have easily gone for a 15.4" with 1440 resolution. All they did was plop in a new proc…

Remember back in the Clone Wars when Motorola had a machine running Mac OS? My question is, if IBM is spending so much money on these chips, how come they're not using it themselves? I always wondered that. Granted Windows wouldn't support it…

I agree about the BTO option. In the PC world I like the ability to spend $100 for a UXGA screen but go for the slower processor to balance it out. Apple's BTO options aren't that varied and maybe that's what helps them in their inventory. But …

But I do believe the most important thunder for Apple is the Back to School audience. Most schools start on Sept.2. They better have it in the distribution channel and have college campuses armed and ready to go by the time students get there or t…

I find it funny reading magazines such as Maxim which this month states they recommend the RIO mp3 player as the small, ultralight, portable MP3 player of choice. 512mb for only $299. And the other competing makers such as RCA, Sony, etc., all hav…

I like what I'm seeing and it makes sense in the competing Windows world. The 1.5" form factor is like one of those powerful desktop replacement laptops PC, I just hope when something like it does come out, it won't weigh 9lbs like the Windows do. …

Aside from the rumor itself, the main issue for most of us is to whether invest in a short life cycle product or to wait. As I assume most of you prospective buyers, you'll be using it for business or for school. As my accountant says, buy at leas…

Quote: Originally posted by RBR The problem with the G5 lineup is price. They may be price competitive with top of the line PCs, but when someone has $1000 - $1200 to spend Apple needs an alternative to the iMac /eMac lineup which gives the capa…

Also, I can't imagine the lack of security being a forebearer to anything. Remember, Apple announced they will have the G5 on the floor for people to view. I doubt that it's there yet or else there would definitely be security for it. Thus other …

Jobs already made a press statement stating they would not be making a tablet pc because there isn't a market for it. With the sales of the current market ones slumping, I'd say the end is near for them. Also, remember the emate? Maybe if they …

Does anyone know what's directly on the base of the tower? That 4" space not revealed when the side is open that's below the processors? That's where the wasted space comes from. If that wasn't the case, Pofo's photoshop modification would have b…

My guess is that the G5 Powerbook will definitely have a new enclosure. Therefore, why would Apple want to invest and gear up production for a 15.4" Al powerbook? Doesn't make much sense. Then again, they definitely need a laptop in place tha…

wow! you're absolutely right. a thin bezel like the 1/2" samsung models in aluminum. and one that actually tilts and is fully adjustable. the mesh backing would be an awesome touch as well. let's hope.

Also remember that Panther will be optimized for the G5 so that'll make a huge difference in speeds. I almost believe you won't see too much real world application speed differences between the dual 1.25 and a single 1.6. they're definitely priced…

First off, have any of you seen it in person? This thing is huge! About 4 inches taller than the current G4. And they still didn't have room, so they had to remove 1 optical drive and 2 hard drives. What's up with that? And for those of you h…

Wow, I just woke up to this!!! And to think I had no reason to wake up in the first place. Top Technology story on My Yahoo, News.com and MacCentral. It's gotta be all true!!! Can't wait to see the new enclosures.

I really hope the Rev.B of the 12" will have an L3 cache. Plus a higher resolution (aside from the obvious speed boost). That would definitely make it sexier.

wow, a 1920 resolution? that's sick. i'd go blind looking at something like that on a 15". then again, gotta have the latest. can't wait to upgrade my first generation ti-book.
