One more thing: since I'll probably have to return this, I would appreciate any feedback from people on what brand(s) you are successfully using in OS X.

It's not actually a card reader, it's a solid state flash drive (i.e. use in place of a zip, floppy, etc.). Either way though, you have a good question. I'll try looking on the Apple site to see if it is supported. Does Apple have a "one stop"…

I just tried the flash drive on my Win2000 laptop (the reason I got this is for easy quick transfer of files between PC/Mac machines) and it worked fine. I copied 100 MB worth of stuff to the drive no problem. Hmmm, I'm going to try this again in OS…

Boot into OS 9 and do the update. You can get it from Software Update if you don't have a CD. Just do it, you'll be glad you did.

Go to Connectix's site and read their FAQ. There are some legitimate issues regarding the support of video hardware. Besides, VPC was never meant to run games. It is an emulator, and by definition emulators always suffer a performance hit: they'r…

"Topic: New Features in Jaguar (please post here rather than one thread per feature!)" I would have rather seen 15 different threads, each devoted to a different feature rather than wade through 280+ replies to find what I'm interested in

Thank you!

Thanks for all your help!

I honestly can't say what magic combination of features would make me pay, but to put it simply, I would have to be impressed. If I wasn't impressed, but there were some good improvements, then I would pay up to $30. If I was thoroughly impressed, t…

I was on the verge of dumping classic but two things happened: 1) F!@#ing MS and their "LAN check" in Office for OS X (why, why, why can't I use Entourage while my wife uses Word--this is a rhetorical question so don't answer it) 2) UT GOTY (I…

This is an absolute brilliant move on Alias' part as it will offer those that are in the graphic arts realm the opportunity to learn this tool without investing anything other than their own time! I'm not a graphics artist, but I can appreciate a…

It's called "volunteer response". Get a statistics textbook and read about it. <soap box time> It's because of sh!t stats like Register.com's that the saying "there's lies, damn lies, and statistics!" came from. Shoddy half-@ss "…

Boy, this thread has been busy since the last time I was here Obviously this issue has become rather heated, with many people taking different points of view; I can understand that. What I don't understand are the cries of "Apple apologist" wh…

Come on Scott, can't you put a little more thought into your rebuttle rather than a quick cliche? FYI - I use Macs and PCs, and while I like the Mac Interface better than the Windows interface, I'm anything but an Apple zealot... Try and add s…
