It was. You're welcome.

Good point.

It's most likely that the new Powerbooks will have 1 of the following pairs of clockspeeds: 600 and 733 667 and 800 733 and 867 My money's on 667 and 800, but that's just me. There is no reason that the current GPU wouldn't be able to do …

Ideal resolution for PowerBook: 1536 x 1024. Not too small, but still displaying great amount of pixels.

I was just wondering, if Apple releases a 19" LCD, what would it's resolution be? After all, the 17" already has 1280x1024, and the 22" is 1600x1024, so the 19" wouldn't be able to be a full 1600x1200, for that would be more pixels than the 22" w…

Sorry, I didn't hear anything about DDR RAM.

No problem.

G4Dude- Not a compUSA employee, one of the Apple employeed people representing Apple inside the compUSA stores because compUSA employees don't know about Macs. Just making that clear. -'pert

Definately 1.2 dual. I even think a theoretical 867 dual would be faster than a 1.5 single. I hope I'm wrong about the towers because I don't like it when the dual is not the highest speed (in clockspeed per processor) because of this exact qu…

Thanks, BuonRotto. If Apple made the low end a 867 dual, that would totally rock. I think a 867 would be overpriced at $1699, especially if it does not include a Superdrive. However, a dual 867 for $1699 would be a great value. Your display …

I would assume the 17" would come down to the current 15"'s price point, however, I didn't hear anything about that. I don't know why the 867, since with one more mutliplier on the 133 bus, you get 1 GHz. Must want that high margin. A friend …

pscates- this guy is actually looking for predictions on MWNY July. I thought it was for January too, until I read more carefully. Amazing, we can't even wait until January to start ranting about July. -'pert

JYD, I'd like to believe you, and darn, those desktops would be killer, but I don't think it'll happen. I hope it does though. Great price/performance in both the iMac and PowerMac. -'pert

Thanks, any word on the optical drive? I hope Combo at least in the high end. -'pert

The point may be mute anyways because the Superdrive will not be in a G3, 1 GHz or not. It needs the G4 unique altivec engine. However, perhaps if this supposed 1 GHz G3 is the IBM Sahara which is supposed to have an altivec like functionality to …

I don't think the iBook will get the G4 until 2003 at the earliest. For this to happen, the iMac needs to be G4, the towers need to be G5 and the PowerBook probably needs to be G5 as well. So G4 iBooks are aways off, don't you agree? -'pert

Applenut- New iMac has a G4, but does it get an LCD? and what size hopefully 15" I assume there's no chance it will be more than 1024x768 resolution? -'pert
