Tim Cook meets with President Trump at the White House
So Trump says Mr Cook told him they would stop the two factories they were building in Mexico and instead build them in the US. Sounds typically Trumpian.
AFAICT the factories Trump refers to belong to TSMC, and are (were) intended to produce some Apple chips in addition to components for other companies. They are not "Apple factories".
Secondly he mumbled Apple is building automobiles here in the US and fabbing a new plant for it, and hopes he didn't leak news ahead of Mr. Cook ?? I suspect that one is a misstatement.
Remember this Trump announcement?- President Donald Trump recently commented that Apple intends to locate three large manufacturing plants within the U.S., according to an interview with The Wall Street Journal.
That's from 2017. -

Apple's C1 modem signals the end of its Qualcomm dependence
9secondkox2 said:I doubt apple will be pursuing 5g only with this modem. They’ll need for for fallback and likely borrow the tech, leading to some fees paid to due the minefield of 5g patents. But 6g… that’s likely what apple is spending their respurces on, possibly being the first to get there and be a big part of setting the standard.
EDIT: 3GPP is hoping to finalize the 6G standard by the end of 2028 so that a network can be prepared for 2030 deployment. The standards group also recognized a potential "power grab" by newcomer Apple and has taken steps to neutralize it.

iPhone 16e is clearly targeted at iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 owners
Hreb said:As an iphone 12 user, the clumsy, giant form factor of the 16e combined with lack of magsafe makes the 16e extremely uncompelling. It's not even cheap. Zero chance this is my next smartphone. -
Apple's Siri renovation is probably going to take longer than expected
AppleZulu said:So yeah, stuff’s on the market already, and Apple is once again “behind.” If past is precedent, Apple will eventually leapfrog its competitors, because they’re taking the time to develop something that serves their customers -the people who buy their hardware- instead of designing something that fools their users into becoming more compliant products for sales and advertising companies.
