How to get on Google's 'Ask Photos' waitlist for iPhone

Google has addressed potential privacy concerns with Ask Photos. The company assures users that their photo data won't be used for advertising.

Are there people that really believe that?
Lawyers are anxiously waiting in the wings to sue Google for $Billions if there's any indication they're lying.

Facebook ad partner may have tried to listen into your conversations
Wasn't this an old story? I think I remember this being an article on AppleInsider maybe a year or two ago.
For what it's worth, most relatively recent Google Android devices also give the user a “green indicator” if the microphone or camera is in use, just as iPhone's do. That's been in place since Android 12 in 2021.

EDIT: Yes, the story was previously reported here last year:
At the time Cox Media denied they were doing any such thing, yet here we are again.

BTW, Cox Media is no longer trusted by Google and removed as an advertising partner as mentioned in the AI article. Facebook and Amazon are less clear. -
Apple again said to be considering investing in ChatGPT maker OpenAI
It's probably Apple covering their butts, making sure they have access to at least one of the premium AI providers, and keep a closer eye on the state of development. It doesn't mean they'll integrate with Open AI anymore than they already are, but it does keep a door open in case their own plans don't work out. Google and Amazon are both major Anthropic investors, again covering their butts, and especially in Amazon's case that's a good move and for the same reason it would be good for Apple.
As an aside, I had been unaware until this past week that OpenAI was edging close to bankruptcy, and with no clear path to profitability, which is why they're going for another fundraiser. Fortunate for them there's Big Tech around to bail them out.

The issue any company not American or Chinese will have is that the private investment money needed to compete with those AI models isn't there. But accepting money from American Big Tech isn't acceptable to many of them either. Rock meet Hard Place.
