  • Elizabeth Warren calls for tech giant breakup, with Apple in the cross-hairs

The difference is, Apple isn’t sneaking into people’s lives the way Facebook, Google and Amazon are. Those three gather information/data for the sake of profit. Apple gathers anonymous info for the sake of better product/services development.

  • Benchmark showdown: Samsung Galaxy S10+ versus iPhone XS Max

    It's already been mentioned, but....

Primate Labs Geekbench Browser (which aggregates thousands of tests) lists the iPhone XS Max at 4,797 single (very close to yours) but 11,225 in multi (a full 900 pts higher than your result). They don't list the S10 yet, which is typical since they haven't had enough tests performed yet to show up. This happens every

AnTuTu lists the iPhone XS Max at 355,762 (I don't know how many results they use to get that figure). They have the Exynos 9820 equipped S10 at 332,850 but no result for the 855 version. Again, your AnTuTu result for the iPhone XS Max is extremely low (by 40,000).

I just ran both tests on my iPhone XS Max "as is" (meaning I didn't do a cold boot or delete any running Apps - I literally just started the benchmarks when I saw this article pop up). I got 361,314 for AnTuTu and 4767/11,245 for Geekbench.

Clearly there's something amiss with your iPhone results. Are you on beta software? Running something in the background?

So the A12 beats the 855 despite having half the performance cores.
Why is that a surprise? That's what happens when you have a company building components in tandem, and optimizing those components for the software/firmware they're designed to use. It's no secret that Android is a complete disaster when it comes to efficiency.

  • Editorial: Apple's waiting game on foldable iPhones is no surprise

Apple has patents related to a folding phone going back nearly 8 years now. Shamdung and Howeee aren’t very innovative, as it’s pretty easy to scour Apple’s patents for ideas, as Shamdung has proven they do quite often for years now. The Galaxy Edge design was something Apple had patents on for about 5 years before Shammy did it, and the active edge turned out to be totally useless. Microsoft even copies Apple’s patents, as the Studio folding hinge desktop closely matches a patent Apple has had for years for a similar iMac design. PatentlyApple.com covers all this stuff.

Apple is working on a liquid metal based glass substance. If it can be pulled off, that’s when Apple will make a folding iPhone, as Apple would never ship something with a wavy plastic screen.

  • Huawei's debuts $2,600 foldable Mate X, hits new smartphone price record

I saw it with the Galaxy Fold, and I see it on this thing; if or when Apple decides to make a folding iPhone, you won’t be able to see a messy, plasticky screen in the hinge area. I’d wager that’s why Apple STILL doesn’t have a foldable iPhone, as their patents on this go back nearly 8 years. I believe I remember seeing Apple is working on a type of glass based on liquid metal. If that’s the case, and Apple is successful, that could be used for something like this.

  • Apple Music for Android gets tablet support in version 2.7

See! There ARE people making android tablet apps!
Yeah. Leave it to Apple to show everyone else how it’s done... as usual. On that note, this is good news. I’m currently using a Lenovo Android tablet for my business POS, and I can finally have Apple Music playing from that, instead of my phone. Don’t worry... it’ll be replaced by an iPad pretty soon, but this is a good step to help until that day happens.
