  • Tile accuses Apple of antitrust behavior in letter to EU regulators

    JinTech said:
Tile just know their days are numbered and are shivering in their boots.
That's the wrong attitude. If Apple keeps coming out with services that competes with other 3rd party developers on their platform, those developers will start to not trust Apple and wonder when the day will come that Apple comes out with their competing service and drives them out of business. Or worse, creates disadvantages for these 3rd party developers that wouldn't apply to Apple. That does not foster innovation or trust on the platform that these developers want to use.
One could also argue that these companies have benefited immensely from the current system, and the exposure it provides.
Apple TV + isn't drawing people away from Netflix, and iOS users aren't leaving Spotify in droves either.

The key difference is Apple still allows Netflix and Spotify to work on their platforms. What they are allegedly doing is making moves to prevent Tile from doing so whilst coming out with their own product which can work. If this transpired then that is anti competitive practice.

  • Ubisoft sues Apple over Alibaba 'Rainbow Six' game clone in App Store

It is clear why they are suing the distributors

If they win no other such content can be distributed in the future.

if they go for Alibaba they cut off one source of content until the next court case.

  • Tim Cook appears on BBC's 'The Big Night In' to support coronavirus relief

£27m raised with the UK Government also matching it. Thanks to all contributors, large and small.
Perhaps Comic Relief could spend the £100M they have in the bank.

charities in the UK are leeches. Run by heavily paid execs and are poor methods of getting funds to an end cause.

Always support a local charity, who’s Financial books you can view. Big charity is a con.

  • Unannounced Ecobee camera to support Apple HomeKit

Any recommendations for HomeKit compatible home security cams? I’ve been holding out to purchase a couple, as it doesn’t seem there are many options right now.
Anyones hands on experience/recommendation would be most welcomed!
The options I can find are either Logitech’s Circle 2, or also the Logitech Circle 2 lol.
This was just posted the other day, it’s a Netatmo camera. They also have an outdoor camera but I’m not sure if it’s HomeKit compatible yet.

I have one of their outdoor cameras. Unlike my Logitech Circle internal ones it has yet to say not responding. Also two people can view it at the same time which is not possible with the Circles.

  • HomePod gains smart speaker marketshare in Q4, still lags far behind front runners

I have 6 homepods and 2 Echo devices. Former are great speakers but Siri is so far behind Alexa it is at times incomprehensible that a company like Apple allow this state of affairs.

Apple need to up their game otherwise they remain as now just speakers that I use for basic HomeKit tasks.
