  • Tile accuses Apple of antitrust behavior in letter to EU regulators

Tile just know their days are numbered and are shivering in their boots.
That's the wrong attitude. If Apple keeps coming out with services that competes with other 3rd party developers on their platform, those developers will start to not trust Apple and wonder when the day will come that Apple comes out with their competing service and drives them out of business. Or worse, creates disadvantages for these 3rd party developers that wouldn't apply to Apple. That does not foster innovation or trust on the platform that these developers want to use.
One could also argue that these companies have benefited immensely from the current system, and the exposure it provides.
Apple TV + isn't drawing people away from Netflix, and iOS users aren't leaving Spotify in droves either.

The key difference is Apple still allows Netflix and Spotify to work on their platforms. What they are allegedly doing is making moves to prevent Tile from doing so whilst coming out with their own product which can work. If this transpired then that is anti competitive practice.

  • Review: Netatmo Smart Indoor Camera pairs HomeKit Secure Video with AI facial recognition

    Does it have Wi-Fi?
Yes it does. I have a number of Netamo products as part of my HomeKit setup. Whilst the apps are a little bit disjointed (separate ones for security, weather and energy) the devices are solid and work well. This indoor camera looks to be from the same design philosophy.

and will this new design also be not upgradable after 2years like with iOS12?
all these thousands of users that purchased  the first generation are now left in the cold!
    No they aren’t
They have a fully functioning watch that did more than they originally thought it did when they bought it due to subsequent upgrades

Just installed. HomePods (x2) sound great. Like they should have done months ago...
If they could’ve released it months ago they would have. What would be the benifit of making people wait, all it does is cause angst and makes pundit “question whether Apple can innovation anymore”. Companies tend to release things as fast as they possibly can.
Then they shouldn’t have announced it as a feature. I do understand the challenges with multi room audio however better to have not announced it then delighted when then did release.

I believe the expression is underpromise and overdeliver. Makes for far happier customers in the end.

  • Apple HomePod coming to Canada, France & Germany on June 18, gets AirPlay 2 & stereo pairi...

One advantage of the homepod is that it sounds just as good no matter where you are in the room. Can that be done with stereo?
It’s not stereo as such it is combined audio from two speakers. Fills the room with sound.

Sounds great from where I am sitting right now!
