Apple needs to grasp the situation.   China simply has turned into a grand example of a hostile country.   They have far too many known programs to literally steal technology and of course the related spying programs.   It is hilarious that nobody at Apple has recognized that the worlds relationship with China is not sustainable.   Beyond that there is likely intelligence that Apple does't know about driving the Tik-Tok ban.

In a nut shell Apple needs to stop making excuses and get out of China ASAP.

Apple gets caught again stealing somebody else IP and then cries about it.    Sorry but PanOptis owns those patents for the same reason Apple owns patents, that is to make money.   Frankly this is just another example of why I'm really beginning to believe that Apple needs to go to hell for awhile.   I like a lot of stuff Apple makes but they are digging a big whole due to their lack of ethics.   Frankly they should have left China years ago once it was realized that China has practices as hideous as the Nazi's.  I've lost a lot of faith in Apple of late.

In the long rung it likely will not solve the problem.   They might win against this specific Russian complaint (mainly because people get spastic about child protection) but in the end they are on a loosing path.   The big problem is they will end up with a patchwork of wins and losses across the globe.  

I actually think we need to see international action on things like this (consumer protections at app stores) and the related right to repair issue.   Frankly Apple just looks like total idiots (being family friendly here) with some of their policies.   Frankly I lost all interest in app store with their ridiculous MiFi program so i'm a bit biased.   Wit things like right to repair hostility Apple displays complete hypocrisy when they champion their environmental responsibility.

One should spec an iMac machine to last. I always do and my non-upgraded Macs always last me at least 6 years.
The whole point of an “all in one” is a nicer looking machine while sacrificing upgradeability that most of us don’t need.
My 2014 iMac currently runs off a choice of external SSD drives so I can switch from High Sierra to Mojave to Catalina on a simple reboot.
This allows me to use 32 bit apps when necessary, old versions of XCode for older enterprise apps built with older SDKs etc. all with one 6 year old iMac.

For most users the idea that you can fully specify a long term purchase up front is a joke.   Storage is a significant issue here as the users data needs expand and even apps explode in size. 

I've never have considered a desktop all in one to be a reasonable buy, so I guess we are on a completely different page.   However in many cases if somebody has hooked up an external drive then they have demonstrated the need to have internal storage options.   I might add that those external devices crap all over that nice looking all in one.

This right here is a problem there is a very real element of elected officials using the system to appeal to with nothing between the ears.
