  • Apple TV with 4K UHD, 10-bit HDR and Dolby Vision revealed by HomePod firmware

Honestly guys the feature I most want to see in the next Apple TV is the ability to manage an external disk array.   It is the only way to deal with bandwidth limitations and the home videos, business flicks and other sources that don't stream well.    For many of us streaming isn't the answer, we need a local video repository.   It make sense to do this on Apple TV due to its low power nature.

All that being said I'm sitting here wondering if the new Apple TV will be tied into HomePod in some manner, maybe even a variant of HomePod.

  • Wisconsin court orders Apple pay $506M for infringing on WARF patent

I guess Foxcon won't be building a factory in Wisconsin after all.
No I think this is an example of Apple getting a little STUPID in their old age.   To sight a similar patent in you patent filing just seems to be inviting a lawsuit.   Apple basically said hey this is where the idea came from.

APFS with self-healing as ZFS has? Is it required to reformat (with data loss) the previous Mac Sierra drive for High Sierra APFS?
I installed the first beta with no problem with APFS.   aPFS has been running for a while now on iOS so that part of the beta is stable.

  • EU hammers Google with record $2.7 billion antitrust fine for illegal search manipulation

This is a prime example of the EU's obsession with successful American companies.    Frankly i think the goverment here in the USA needs to take a more active roll in adressing this harassment.     In the end that is exactly what it is.

By the way iagree with Google, links to other search sites just waste my time.  The last thing we need is crappy service from Google because the EU can't compete.

  • AMD Vega 56 and Vega 64 GPUs destined for iMac Pro detailed in Linux driver

Apple seem to be throwing away so many opportunities just so they can focus on the iPhone.
You've got it all figured out, haven't you, I'm surprised Tim's not knocking on your door right now to hand you the keys to the company. ;-)
Tim Cook wouldn't be the first executive to screw up understanding customer needs.    I live across the river from the Old Kodak Park and can attest to just how badly a companies leadership can screw up not understanding markets and customer needs.   Right now Apple is living off iPhone but that can go as quickly as it came, it would be nice to see Apple produce computers that its customers actually want and have a need for.   Oh an maybe put a bit of effort into marketing those computers as complete systems, the MacPro shows that they have loss all concept of what a pro system is.
