  • Editorial: Can Apple News+ kill 'fake news' and save journalism?

Journalism is already dead. When you see major news media outlets suppress news that favorable to President Trump, make numerous mistakes against Trump they later have to retract with less publicity, only report facts that support their side, don't report facts critical of their side, journalism is gone. Studies have already shown that Google search results favor liberal sites such as CNN even though their accuracy and quality of news reporting has been extremely poor.

An example is with the announcement of the Green New Deal, most news media was praising it, but none have stated how much it will actually lower earth's temperature. For the US to spend something like $93 trillion and there's no critique of what you're getting for your money is irresponsible.

  • Apple being sued because two-factor authentication on an iPhone or Mac takes too much time...

You can do it from your mac or even have verification code go to your Apple Watch I think. Additionally you can add a second trusted phone number for occasions such as yours when you don’t have your iPhone - even a landline, where you receive an automated call in lieu of a text verification.
The problem is, it's not very clear how you can configure it so you're able to use 2FA when your primary device is not available. This is not a frivolous lawsuit. Hopefully it forces Apple to improve 2FA.

I had 2 problems with 2FA. The first was when someone took my iPhone by accident. I tried logging into the iCloud web site to findmyiphone, but it required 2FA. They have since changed that, but at the time, my only choice was to change my password. Fortunately I got it back a short time later. The other time was the other day when a charge to my wife's iTunes account was partly to store credit and part to my account (as part of the family group). I couldn't log into her iTunes account because it required 2FA going to her phone which was with her in another city. I had to wait until later in the day to check it.

  • 'Find my iPhone' warned murder victim of assailant's location minutes before death

I wish those writing articles would say where the incident took place. I didn't find any mention in this one other than CTPost. Clicking on the article link, I couldn't find any mention in that article where the incident took place other than Fairfield. I clicked on the CTPost link and it didn't say. Only when I clicked on the contact us link did I find it was in Connecticut which explains what the CT in CTPost means. /rant

I'd rather my taxes go to mental health funding than endless wars.

Could you imagine where the world would be if the amount of money spent on the military was instead spent on funding technological and environmental advances?

Your post is ironic. TCPIP, the backbone of the internet, was invented by the US department of defence.
Which obviously means it wouldn't have been invented otherwise. 🙄
Actually it indicates that the military has been behind many technological advances.  Take GPS for example.
