  • Inside macOS 10.13 High Sierra: APFS benefits end users with space, speed

It's like as if they either want faster transfers and updates to/from Cloud and/or keep selling devices that do not require increasing amount of space, to those who use actively their iCloud services (with "optimise memory" options active, and streaming either from iTunes Match or Apple Music).

About iCloud, I would really like to see an option popping up between 200Gb and 2Tb, why can't they provide options in between such as 500Gb or 1Tb? Crazy...

  • Seventh betas of macOS 10.12.4 and iOS 10.3 released for public & developer testing [u]

I would like to know if those beta did solve bluetooth issues for anyone experiencing them or not? (I am thinking about the bluetooth server crashing, as stated in the iPhone logs, and the experience of annoying bluetooth connection issues, on top of all with cars). I have seen some users stating these solved most of their issues, just wondering (and hoping...).

  • How to add and play podcasts using Overcast for the iPhone

I don't get the love for Apple's Podcast app, it was bad when it was tied into the music app and the (now separate) app is literally the worst podcast app I've ever used. Missing even the most basic podcast features like smart speed playback (0.5x/1x/1.5x/2x? Really, that's it?), can't restrict downloads over cellular, no chapter marker support, it even insists on waiting 24 hours before deleting played episodes?

It's like the company that made podcasts a thing completely forgot about them and left their app back in circa 2009.
I am not sure what you mean by smart, but on my iOS 10.2.1 iPhone 6S, I can change the playback speed through the same increments you provided (e.e.: 0.5x, 1x, 1.5x, 2x): the command to do so is located toward the left of the playback controls when the app is on front (i.e.: not through Control Center). Also, I can restrict the downloads over cellular in the settings (i.e.: the Podcast section in the phone settings). I guess you are right concerning the 24h period before auto deleting episodes but I am too lazy to check.  ;)

  • Foxconn workers depart company, rather than shift to non-iPhone assembly -- report

So workers assembling Apple devices are more protected ?! I am glad paying for this.

  • 'iPhone 8' to include game changing 3D facial recognition tech in FaceTime camera

    Meh

reminds me of the plus portrait mode blurred background, another feature that can easily be done in software
It is actually done in software IMO. The dual lens, in this case, just allows the software to distinguish objects in the front and the ones in the background. The software aspect is easily noticed when looking a hairs among other details. My 2 cents.
