  • Epic Games vs Apple -- the whole story

Quote by Tim Sweeney (Via Twitter) back in 2019 on why it’s good that only the Epic Store distributes their software.

There’s a saying: “You’re safe because the pilot is on the plane with you”. Epic relies on the Epic Games store as the sole way we distribute our games and engine to all of our customers on PC. Our whole business relies on it. Similar with Epic’s online services.

    What a fucking hypocrite.

  • Apple denied Parler re-entry to the App Store despite guideline revision

Good, but heaven knows why it was allowed in the first place. Absolute cesspool.
Parler is no different than facebook or twitter.
    Lies.

I have accounts on Parler and Twitter. On Parler I have literally called for the execution of specific politicians BY NAME and not even a warning. Dozens of times. On Twitter I’ve made vague threats like “Those 2nd Amendment folks could help us deal with some corrupt politicians” with nobody mentioned by name and received 24 hour suspensions. I stopped after my 2nd suspension as I didn’t want to get permanently banned.

Anyone who claims Parler is no different from Twitter is a straight up liar.

  • FTC, 46 states file antitrust suit against Facebook, seek Instagram & WhatsApp break-up

The irony here is that the FTC was the one who approved the Instagram and WhatsApp acquisitions in the first place.

I think that’s simply down to the FTC having no clue about social media and where it would go.

When a large oil company wants to buy up the next two biggest competitors it’s easy to understand what they’re trying to do and the issues it raises. Not so with WhatsApp and Instagram.

  • Judge backs Apple in BlueMail's App Store antitrust case

    sbdude said:
There’s no precedent set when a lawsuit is dismissed without prejudice. It means they can refile the lawsuit upon providing another legal theory that supports their claims. If the judge had tossed the case with prejudice, that would be a different story.

    That’s a simplification.

The lawyers for Blix would have presented their strongest possible case. The idea they can simply refine their case isn’t really true, as it would imply their lawyers did a piss-poor job the first time, and will “get serious” next time.

If there were several possible avenues to take regarding this lawsuit you can bet they picked the best one to present. Any other legal theories they might have would be inferior to this case, making the likelihood of success even lower the second time around.

  • Apple's claims about M1 Mac speed 'shocking,' but 'extremely plausible'

Comparing mobile chips to the likes of 10900K...that is extremely laughable.
    Yes, laughable...

We got desktop computers (with hefty cooling solutions) running at 80C+ during CPU/GPU intensive tasks, but we’re supposed to believe iPhones/iPads/Mac Laptops are able to run the same programs without undergoing a full meltdown. Yeah, okay. I love my Apple devices, but don’t get ahead of yourself there, buddy.
That's why AnandTech is a respected web publication that does deep dives into processors and you're just a guy on the internet with absolutely nothing but irrational hate to back up your claims.

You know that you can go to AnandTech's website to see why the Apple A13 scored a 63.3 on the SPECiint2006 test, right? Of course, that takes a little effort on your part so I guess I shouldn't hold my breath.
I build my own systems, I benchmark my own systems, and I run real world tests on those systems. I have enough years of experience to back up my claims. All you’re doing is employing your appeal to authority fallacy and nothing else.

The village idiot complains about "appeal to authority", then turns around and does the same thing by talking about how they build their own systems to add credibility to their lies.

Andrei from Anand is an actual chip designer who worked for Imagination at one point. Ian has a doctorate in Computational Chemistry from Oxford. Curious what your background relating to processor design is.
