  • Apple TV with faster processor, 'Find My Remote' tech could launch in 2021

It's in the drawer under the TV with no battery in it
Right... no battery in it...  ;)

Also, the Harmony remote/app sucks worse than the real remote, as far as ATV is concerned.  I have three of those myself.  (When is Logitech going to give up Silverlight for the programming app?!)

  • Five years later, the Apple Card is a huge but controversial success

As a consumer, it doesn’t get much simpler to manage my account day-to-day.  I treat it like an AmEx card that’s must be paid off each month, so no interest.  And the customer service options are broader (and easier).  Texting CS is so much less painful than being tethered to a voice call queue, or the uncertainty of email.  In short, loving the card.

  • Microsoft aims to replace your iPad and iPhone with new Surface Duo

The article forgot to mention that $1400 covers the minimum configuration of 128GB.  There's a 256, but I did not bother to look at that.  They seem to be aiming for lowest-common-denominator in terms of feature set, but the highest price bracket to attract Windows/Android snobs.

None of their renders seem to show a rear camera, but the tech specs say there's only one each, front and rear.  Sloppy marketing doesn't instill a lot of faith in the actual product.

I also idly wonder if they have learned anything about reliability since the Surface Pro.

  • Philips debuting large filament HomeKit bulbs, other updates in September

What has me on the sidelines still is more wattage.  I need a 75-100 watt equivalent, not 60.

  • Microsoft fires back at Apple, accusing it of treating gaming apps differently

I agree with Microsoft on this, but Apple (if they say anything) will probably argue they are not a general purpose platform and instead compare themselves to the Xbox store. I really wish Apple would see iOS as the post-PC platform for everything.
When you have 1.7 million apps on your platform, you don't get the pleasure or the privilege of saying you're not a general purpose platform.  If they did, that would be a BS argument.  MS is the only competitor that has the size and economic clout to go after Apple on this and I'm glad that they're raising the issue regarding Apple's dogmatic handling of the App Store.
Apple is on point here. If you want to play on our platform play by our rules. I may be wrong, but I’m sure Microsoft is not letting Sony games stream to Xbox. Microsoft can’t be trusted. Why would they undermine their own development platform? If game developers were wooed to this and stopped developing for iOS directly, it would make us dependent on Microsoft like we were for the first Macintosh. Then when Microsoft looses interest like the tend to do, the platform would suffer.

Microsoft wants special treatment that is all.
MS just want their service in iOS devices, that is all.
Giving Congress something to really talk about, that’s all.
