  • Hands on: Apple's 2020 iPad Pro nails the user experience

I will never be convicted that the iPad is worth anything.  You cant hand hold it comfortably for any length of time.. so you put it on a stand with a keyboard. Why not just use a laptop with a real OS ?
As a paid musician with a pdf library of musical literature, tablets in general (and the iPad in particular due to its aspect ratio) are my best possible option.

A laptop is landscape, not portrait - totally wrong for my needs - and how 'bout that useless albatross of a keyboard, sitting on a grand piano?

Seems a bit silly to seperate separate iPhone and iOS, it's an integrated product.
I see your point, but when iPad was introduced, it was marketed as running the very same OS.

Lot of interesting takes on this list... the Apollo 11 mission at # 12, for example.

  • MacBook Pro may detect gestures in the air above the Touch Bar in the future

I dunno.  Theremins, for example, demand a LOT from the user in terms of consistent spatial accuracy.

Seems like someone watched the Iron Man movies, and decided to run with the visual conceit.

  • Six ways iPhone 11 Pro bests the Galaxy S20+ -- and five ways it doesn't

Honest question... given human eyesight limitations, how close to that screen does one have to be, to notice the 67PPI improvement?
Or is this more about casting to an external display?
[NOTE: the author of the article needs to correct their PPI calculation...]

  • Mac mini, iMac, iMac Pro, or Mac Pro - which desktop Mac to buy in March 2020

"Let us simplify it -- nobody should buy the lowest-cost 21.5-inch iMac, no one at all."

Uh, with all due respect, Exhibit A:

My SO is still perfectly happy with the performance of her mid-2010 MBP 13", aside from battery life (a nonissue in an always-plugged-in home office environment) and the fact that the newest supported OS is 2 years old, give or take.  It would be better to stay current.

She's not doing anything that requires a Retina display (remember, her existing unit is pre-Retina),  She also doesn't have room (thanks to her humongous desk hutch) for the larger display.  So yeah, the very bottom end (snail HD and all) is exactly in her wheelhouse.

Please elaborate why we should spend boo-koodles more on upscale hardware she doesn't need, nor will ever take advantage of.

(My own personal use case is vastly different, of course...)
