Design failure in Apple's Time Capsule leads to data loss
alphafox said:I still use my AirPort Extreme for my main router, the thing is bulletproof. No drive in just the router version.
First, the single USB connection simply “gave up” and stopped reading or supplying power. Not even a thumb drive was readable. When I spoke to an Apple Genius about it, he said this was a very common failure point. I soldiered on with dedicated drives for each Mac.
Two months ago, I suffered yje catastrophic failure mentioned above: nothing but an amber blink, resets did nothing, nor detectable on the network. So I fled to Synology too, but their WiFi router, RT2600ac. Supports Time Machine via multiple USB inputs, just a really capable device, I couldn’t be happier. -
Philips Hue to introduce new bulbs in September
Having never gotten any up to now, I have some questions for current users.
I presume these lumen ratings apply when every LED in the bulb is driven at 100% output? Thus any color variant will be some degree dimmer, depending on the hue you choose?
So I’m thinking this new 100W equivalent will be closer to 75W in practice? -

iPadOS 15 confirms Apple's M1-equipped iPad Pro is a V8 engine powering a Ford Pinto
A pity that DewMe’s post isn’t getting more traction here.
I have very specific and narrow use cases for my 12.9 IPP that a MBP or some Microsoft-inspired Franken-device will absolutely not satisfy. Yes, I also own a 16” MBP too.
Complainers looking for one device for all use cases would be better served fleeing to Windows. No one wants to admit they just can’t afford to have the best in class of both form factors. That’s not Apple’s problem, it’s theirs. And they’re trying to shift the problem to someone else than themselves.
