  • It's time for Apple to retire the Apple Watch Series 3

So totally agree. I’ve got a hand-me-down Series 3 that I’ve been using mostly just for ApplePay convenience in the age of face masks messing up Face ID (which is now less of a problem thanks for the latest iOS update…). It’s very difficult to use for pretty much anything due to the storage limitations and processor speed - especially with having to un-pair it every time a WatchOS update comes out to do the update, which is a several hour process (I thought we had finally corrected that with WatchOS 8, but it seems that we’re back to it again with 8.5…). If this was my first experience with an AppleWatch I’d be very disappointed. Thankfully in my case I’m mostly using it for just one very limited thing, but if I was trying to use it for more, I’d be pretty discouraged.

  • Apple's MLB deal is good for Apple TV+, but making a bad situation worse for baseball fans...

Definitely gotten worse the past couple of years, especially with the blackouts of your local market team on MLB.tv. With more and more of the regional RSNs getting chopped out of many cutter options (except fuboTV), unless a game is nationally broadcast I can’t watch it. At the very least it would be nice if I could purchase directly from my local RSN, but nope - they don’t allow that. I know they’ve got the tech - if I had Comcast cable, I could log into my RSN’s app and watch on the road, but heaven forbid we cut Comcast out of the equation and buy access direct from the RSN.

My household has gone from watching around 140+ games a season to about…. 10. Maybe. All because these insane licensing agreements make the games unavailable through how I purchase TV viewing.

  • HDMI cable purchasing is about to get a whole lot more complicated

Because of course they had to make it “simpler”…

…and they wonder why people get confused.

  • 14-inch & 16-inch MacBook Pro rumored to get 1080p webcam

About time, just as with the need for M1X MBP’s.  It’s been over a year since the M1 shipped and we still don’t have a 16” MBP.
The M1 chip based products didn’t start shipping until November 17th, so it hasn’t even been 8 months yet.  The actual M1 itself wasn’t even announced until November 10th, though the official transition was announced last summer at WWDC (June 22, 2020) and devs had access to the  A12Z based Mac Mini to begin their prep work for the M series chips.

  • EU says smarthome 'gatekeepers' like Apple may harm competition

Isn’t this what the Matter initiative is supposed to help with?  Building a standard for interoperability to reduce the need for gatekeepers?
