  • Apple warns Russian journalists of Pegasus iPhone infections

Pegasus has been around for years now. Could somebody please write a professional but comprehensive article explaining why Apple has not been able to protect us from this loophole?
Apple already explained that those attacks are very sophisticated and likely have direct hand on access to those devices and rigged them.

"Apple threat notifications are designed to inform and assist users who may have been targeted by state-sponsored attackers. These users are individually targeted because of who they are or what they do. Unlike traditional cybercriminals, state-sponsored attackers apply exceptional resources to target a very small number of specific individuals and their devices, which makes these attacks much harder to detect and prevent. State-sponsored attacks are highly complex, cost millions of dollars to develop, and often have a short shelf life. The vast majority of users will never be targeted by such attacks."

  • China problems won't affect iPhone 15 success, says Wedbush

It's hilarious how they all warn that Apple don't have chips ready because of shortages or problems but apparently, Apple is delivering iPhone 15 with new processors and they go, "oh China problems won't affect Apple's biz..." whatever.

Apple, unlike most companies, is extremely skilled at getting the sources they need despite the uncertainties. Tim Cook really knows what he's doing and that's why Steve Jobs hired him and appointed him to become the CEO of Apple after his death.

  • Apple accessories set for rapid Lighting to USB-C shift

This really sucks because USB-C connectors are known to not stay connected. Lightning is just fine for phones, especially because this is a really good connector that actually stays connected. I continue to have issues with USB-C cables staying connected to external storage and my iMac. The connection keeps dropping, even after I tape the connector to the SSD enclosure. Move it a tiny bit and it disconnects. I've never had this problem with Lightning except when the cable has been damaged. It really upsets me that an inferior "standard" is being forced on Apple. Intel has never provided the computer market with a good connector.

I have 5 external drives via USB-C (4 via usb hub) and I don't have those issues on my iMac. Occasionally, it would disconnect and reconnect immediately and that is an expected behavior if USB devices didn't stay powered up (and no longer an issue when plugged into UPS). But if you yank the cable and it gets disconnected, then you have a bad cable. It shouldn't happen.

  • Apple's iMessage gets a reprieve from EU digital gatekeeper law

EU is run by incompetent politicians on technology.

I am always reminded every time I see a cookie warning.

EU should mandate all browsers to have support of "tracking" features so they can see where their cookies are being stored and offer a way to block them. Don't pop up every time I visit a new site or that cookie expired. It's disruptive to a natural web experience.

Now with the app stores, they are clearly not thinking in best interest of security. Viruses and malware are spread through third parties who convince them to download outside the app stores. It's very rare for app stores to have them as they have curators and automators to detect for code that suggest malicious use. I have seen so many people get their accounts hacked because of that. They are convinced that in order to view a video, they have to download a program. The EU should be focused on lowering the commission, not opening of third party stores where Apple or Google have no control over quality or security of apps.

  • China completely bans use of iPhone for government business

It's because the Chinese govt cannot have a backdoor to iphones. Simple as that.
