Upgraded version of O.MG hacking cable packs nefarious new capabilities
Also, keep in mind that consumers will unlikely get OMG cables on Amazon or BestBuy or anything of that sort as the cost of cable is high. Consumers would not buy a cable that would be worth that much money. A victim would have to be of a high value and the attacker would have to physically give them the cable making it more difficult.
It will become a concern as soon as the costs go down enough that there's no difference in cost between OMG and nonOMG cables and by then, it's likely USB standards will require implementations to counteract those kind of attacks.

Chamberlain pulls the plug on its HomeKit smart home bridge
Unfortunately, that's expected with the upcoming Matter protocol that will be the standard for home automation. Why support a device that only works with specific platforms? That's the biggest issue I had with Apple's HomeKit. Apple finally will add support for Matter meaning that every device with Matter logo should work on HomeKit, even if it's not built for it.

TikTok monitors everything users type when using in-app browser
This is why I always make sure I use the Safari web browser instead of using the in-app browser when I am interested. FaceBook app does that and it even automatically filled in which made me leery and question the approach. It's not ok. There is literally no justification for in-app browser other than to keep track of what users are doing with them.
