  • Apple reversed its stock trajectory for the year in 30 minutes

The increase may have been from clearing out short trades. Apple had a low bar to clear, given universally low expectations. Plus a huge buy back. Personally I would like to think that some was related to having a real AI announcement soon. We will have to wait.

  • GM's CarPlay replacement doesn't work well, and has a long road ahead of it

There is an irony here for Apple as the world forces it to be open to alt stores and apps, the argument being that the phone belongs to its owner, and they should have complete access. Whether that is true or fair aside, you would think that you should be given choices for the interface in your new $60,000 EV. Choices are a selling feature. Of course you could argue that you could just buy another car, but then using the arguments thrown at Apple, GM has a 100% monopoly .. on GM cars LOL. My car is too old to have had CarPlay, but I am envious whenever I see it on other cars.

  • Apple's iPad doesn't meet DMA criteria, but is getting regulated by the EU anyway

I wanted to write something in response to this article, but it is really pointless. There is no middle ground. Either Apple is the worst company in the world, abusive to all, non innovative, not deserving of any profit and whatever the EU does to harm them is fine. You see the comments here that reflect this view.  OR you are angry or in disbelief on how the EU regulators are trying to hobble successful US tech companies.. because they can. I am in the latter camp, and while I am ok with regulations that limit illegal behaviour, I am not in support of punitive actions that are falsely presented as consumer supportive. Now the iPad is being targeted yet it fits in none of the criteria. They are literally making it up as they go.

  • Epic vs. Apple lurches on, this time about antisteering compliance

Can someone clear this up for me? Fortnite is still not available for download on the iOS App Store. I understand you can play through cumbersome web site or cloud gaming workarounds. So how does Epic complain about Apple and anti steering when the app is not even on iOS?

  • EU's antitrust head is ignoring Spotify's dominance and wants to punish Apple instead

The US administration is a conflicted position. Normally such blatant attacks on US companies would have elicited a forceful response with possible trade sanctions. However with your DOJ going after the same companies in the US, any action is awkward. Since these DMA regulations are part of EU law, Apple and others will need to show that while the laws may be clear, the application to US companies is selective and unfair.
