iPhone 16 won't be compelling and Apple will get hurt because of it, says Kuo

Apple's EU App Store changes are extortion, says Spotify
According to J.P. Morgan, Europe accounts for only 6% of Apple's total App Store sales. Profitable true, but hardly the size that justifies 'doomsday for Apple' comments. IMO, EU legislators think that penalizing huge US tech companies with DMA will be of benefit to struggling EU companies and EU developers, under the guise of protecting users. I don't buy it. The DMA really does little for 'us'. This just increases security risk dealing with smaller developers we care about, should they migrate to alternate marketplaces.

App Store changes coming in iOS 17.4 to the EU don't blow the walls off of the garden
Apple was forced by legislation to provide alternatives. They did. Are the changes going to be embraced by EU companies like Spotify? No of course not. Do the changes fall within the legislation? I am not sure, but Apple obviously has the legal resources to have made sure they did. Clearly iOS users are polarized on this - most feel that Apple created the app store and since it is not a monopoly (which has been ruled on already in a US federal court), it can charge and control as it wants. Others, despite loving the technology, feel that Apple needs to cave into companies like Epic and Spotify demands in the guise of consumer protection. To those .. get an Android. In a way, I feel like I lived in a nice neighbourhood, and one day some crack heads bought the house next door, and have no intention of keeping the music down or cutting the lawn. And the mayor of the town has been paid to ignore our concerns LOL.

So far, Apple is struggling to market Apple Vision Pro
Except for the price, I read many of the same marketing concerns for the 'iPad' as I read in this piece for Vision Pro. I am not sure what success will even be for this, as I think for Apple it remains important to be recognized for being innovative, perhaps more so than an immediate or large return on this investment.

Netflix says use Safari on Apple Vision Pro, because you aren't getting an app
