Apple's iPhone slipping in China because company won't adapt, says Oppo & Vivo founder
These companies would love for Apple to appear to 'adapt', as then they would be seen as true competition. But for the market that Apple is currently interested in, they are really not, not even close. Until such point that Apple can no longer command the high end and take most of the profit in this sector, I think they will (and should) stay on the present course and ignore the Oppo, Vivo and Dittos. -

Android has the market share of smartphones with NFC, yet the Australian banks complain that there is no competition for NFC based payment systems.
Android is open, so therefore they should be able to tap into Apple's security system - which is safe because Apple does not allow intrusions such as this.

I would guess that Consumer Reports did this knowingly. Their subscription base has likely declined as internet reviews of products are more immediate.
Any chance to find something 'bad' about Apple really must be irresistible to them. I canceled my subscription many years ago, knowing that they are not the objective source they used to be.
