Despite being considerably wider, they’ve somehow managed to countour the ends so that they taper down to match the same profile as the old watch. It kind of gives the new watch a bloated look by comparison. Here’s a rough overlay I threw together:
Seeing it it this way, I’m also surprised how thick the bezels really are. While the display area is definitely a nice upgrade, it really isn’t that much bigger when the rounded corners are applied. -
