ARKit 3 features restricted to latest iPhones and iPads
douglas bailey said:iPad Mini 2019 has an A12 chip. But I don't know what ANE is and I don't know if it has a True Depth Camera?
Also, you didn't mention the new iPad Touch. It surely has the A12. -
Editorial: The new Mac Pro is overkill for nearly everybody, and it hit Apple's own target...
pakitt said:This new Mac Pro is for “Pixar”, and the such. By that I mean the true professionals out there that need all this “beef” to do whatever they need that an iMac Pro cannot do. And have the money for it.
I am more interested about people like “NASA”: will macOS be the right OS to support their needs? An OS that is anything but “Pro” and hardly has a Finder fit for the 21st century?...
Although based on Unix, macOs is far from being a Linux-like OS....

First look: Mac Pro and Apple Pro Display XDR [u]
JustSomeGuy1 said:Who wrote this?!? It's rife with errors.- Price of the Mac is wrong (correct start price is $5999).- Max RAM is 1.5TB, not 2TB. (Tells us something interesting about the Xeons being used, they're the first M series)- Description of the MPX is inaccurate and/or speculative. Each one takes up two double-wide slots, two will take four slots. We don't yet know if the infinity fabric will link the cards (you'd think so but I see no evidence).- Pro display nano-etching is an option, for $1k more.- "84GB per second of data migration"?? Who thinks up these things?- "The display does come with a basic stand." Really? You could be right about this, but I've seen no evidence of this. Source?Computer hackers aren't engineers. It's 84GB/second squared (s^2)

The Apple Pro Display XDR brings 6K to the Mac for $4999
wizard69 said:Interesting monitor but charging $1000 extra for a stand is a real dick move on Apples part. Sadly it looks like the marketing crew at Apple still hasn’t come to terms with the reality of the business world outside of their little bit of California.

oseame said:$999 is insane for the stand. VESA mount it is then...
