  • Apple Vision Pro could take four generations to perfect

Good. All the more an argument buying the 1stg gen.

  • $300 Vision Pro developer strap is just an expensive USB2 device

Apple priced this cable at $300? Really? $300?
Well, cheaper than a set of wheels ;-)

  • Please don't use the Apple Vision Pro while driving [u]

And of course, idiots break the news faster than anyone doing something of value with the AVP.

  • Long-running App Store monopoly lawsuit gains class-action status

I met quite a few people that didn‘t know which iPhone they are using, let alone which iOS version. It is the same kind of people that use „123456“ as password (they do: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_most_common_passwords). They use a fraction of what the phone can do and expect stuff to just work. Point is, if stuffed doesn‘t work then they call out the manufacturer for not better protecting the common user / consumer.  And regulators add to this by increasingly demanding long-term support for software regarding security updates, and at the same time demanding laypeople to be exposed to security risks.
I still feel if you don‘t like the product, get another brand.

  • Is Apple's App Store a monopoly or a solution?

No, I paid for the FULL iPhone, I want to use the FULL iPhone

Who the heck is Apple to tell me what I can and cannot do with a device I have paid for? They should refund my money, then they can have their device back to do whatever with

What a coincidence! I just gave back the car I recently purchased because they didn’t let me swap in an engine from another make, or change the operating system… *rolling eyes* Actually, you are free to do whatever you want with your device. Just you cannot demand the manufacturer to offer new services just because you feel like it.

When you purchased the device you knew exactly what you would get, and what not. If you don’t like the offer just vote with your wallet. Entering a contract and wanting to change the conditions on hindsight is not how stuff works.

Also, there are for sure quite a number of consumers who either don’t care or buy the iPhone exactly because of the pluses the current situation offers.

And as for how things will turn out I will happily bet that the number of complaints regarding lack of “I want to do what I want” will be replaced by a significantly higher number of complaints by users that fall into malware, scams and other rip offs because people tend to always bla the product maker, not themselves for lack of knowledge and expertise.
