  • Compared: New M2 MacBook Air vs M1 MacBook Air

I have a mackbook air M1 for working purposes. For office, and online work it’s fantastic but as soon as you use MS teams for a meeting, sharing a screen and video conferencing, the cpu get’s too hot. And because there is no fan inside MacOS makes the cpu’s work slower to avoid heat problems. And then the machine will get very slow. Therefore I would always buy the 13” mackbook pro to avoid this problem.
MS Teams does that on 16 core behemoth desktop systems - it's not the system, it's the appalling software from MS.
I really have to second this -- every laptop I have ever used for Teams becomes very, very slow.  (My experience has only been w/ Windows based laptops at work.)

  • Apple simplified System Settings for macOS Ventura, moved many items

    I don't have a preference really.

I can never quickly find settings on the current Mac because my eye doesn't naturally find what I'm looking. Since the settings are not in alpha order, I always have to search. I would make the same statement about the iPhone -- I have to search because my eye just doesn't naturally scan long out-of-order lists very well.

So as long as search works, I'll be fine.

  • New 'iPhone 14 Pro' rumored to have 8GB RAM

Sorry to be 'that guy' .... but there's a repeated paragraph in the article.

  • 'Foundation' is beautiful, lavish, and boring say reviews

In defense of the series…it's possible that Foundation HAS to be "boring" because the original trilogy was NOT an action book. It was very much about ideas and thinking about history and time…which does not make for an exciting film series.

This was beautiful to watch.  It has been decades since I read the original trilogy. I recognized some of the characters, and I even remembered the space elevator!  So I did't get bored, and I might even bring the book back out and read it again sometime soon.

*** later edit -- I didn't read through all the comments, and I now see that I'm not the first poster to say this, lol ***

  • Apple's $111.4B Q1 shatters quarterly record with massive growth across all categories

Up/down?  This looks like a missed edit --

"while operating expenses are up/down year-on-year to $10.8 billion from $9.6 billion."
