Apple retracts two wrong specs on Titanium Apple Watch weight
robjn said:Apple said on the webpage that titanium is highly sought after for its high strength to weight ratio.
They could have taken advantage of this attribute and made the titanium watch lighter than the aluminum one. Doing so would have involved milling out much more material to give the case much thinner walls.
They apparently did not bother to do this. They just used it as a cosmetic option. If it does not have thinner walls the titanium case has way more strength and mass than necessary. This is a little sad from an engineering point of view and as for marketing; why call attention to the high strength to weight ratio of the material if you are not taking advantage of it?

Apple again reportedly planning a new, but larger 'iPhone SE 2'
80s_Apple_Guy said:That describes the iPhone XR pretty much. AN SE is supposed to satisfy the people that want a small screen and form factor. -
Apple's wireless Tile-like tracking technology exposed in iOS 13 build
I was gifted a tile a few years ago and enjoyed its functionality. But! Once the battery dropped out the app became quite obnoxious at demanding the entire device be thrown away and a new one purchased to replace it. Not good cost wise or environmentally.
any improvement on the system by Apple will certainly be worth looking into. Especially if it can simply be placed on a Qi charger every once in a while and have the battery replaced at five or more year intervals. -
Google's final release of Android 10 is coming soon, with new branding
Tim,
it took Google a long time to get onto the 10 (X) bandwagon. Samsung has been pushing 10 products for a while now too.
I do believe it’s time to turn everything up to 11! (Thanks Spinaltap)
In truth I like the idea that we force the rest of the world to a yyyy.mm.dd version tracking system. It will be a rude awakening for the android rank and file to see what’s being foisted on them.
