  • Signs point to Apple Silicon M3 reveal at 'Scary Fast' event

If it's not an M3 reveal, the event seems pointless, the M2 MacBook Pros were released with no prior notice of the press event, so that was less of a deal than an M2 iMac nearly 18 months after the M2 came out. Also they're clearly talking a speed increase. The bigger question is what's receiving M3, iPad Pro's, a MacBook Air or both MacBook Airs and the 13 inch Pro, Mac Mini, or will it be dedicated to the iMac?
The iMac is also switching to USB-C and they might also offer an M2Pro option.   And maybe something else…..

  • Ming-Chi Kuo flip-flops, now expects new M3 MacBook Pro in October

Wow he is single handily ruining his own reputation.  So he covered his bases either way or another way to look at it, he already confirmed he is wrong.

  • Apple promises 'scary fast' Mac announcement the night of October 30

    M3, Here we go!!
No way is the M3 being announced at this event.  Apple is the king of marketing and introducing a major processor change will not occur with a web evening event.  I expect an 24” iMac with an M2 and maybe an M2Pro as an option.   Be even better if they also introduced a new 27” iMac.

  • Apple promises 'scary fast' Mac announcement the night of October 30

Here comes an updated 24" iMac with an M2 and  since it's called scary fast maybe an M2 Pro CPU will be an option.  No way will the M3 be announced in a web only nighttime event, people are crazy to think the company that is world class in marketing will do something that lame.

I doubt Apple is releasing an iMac Pro. An iMac Pro just isn't necessary with Mac Studio available. There might be a larger screened iMac coming but it won't be a Pro. Just because it's a larger screen iMac doesn't make it an iMac Pro.
They would probably struggle to fit the Ultra chip into the chassis. The Ultra has a large heatsink that takes up most of the height of the device:

They wouldn't want to have the iMac that thick so this means they'd have to flatten the heatsink out and fit it with the two chips, fans, SSD, RAM into the chin area.

The old iMac Pro did it with the bulge at the back:

This was able to handle 370W, the Mac Studio Ultra is 295W:

If they want to get a similar profile as the 24" model and not put the parts behind the display, it would be more likely they'd top out at the Max chips (145W). This would mean it couldn't replace the Studio. It would also be really expensive, an Ultra iMac would be nearly $6k.
I don’t see a 32” iMac being an iMac Pro since there is no need for it since the Mac Studio exists.  Therefore the 32” iMac will not be offered with an Ultra CPU due to its thermal constraints but it will have a M3 Pro and M3 Max as the CPU options.   Can’t wait for this beast of a machine.
