HomePod private beta could be testing voice calls, multiple timers

Tested: Thermal conditions in the 2018 i9 MacBook Pro dramatically hampering performance
The overall machine performs much better than the predecessors right? Enough so to provide a compelling reason for those who need the power to upgrade. Is the thermal design limiting the potential of the chip? Seems to be so. I am just wondering if Apple was looking at what the entire laptop as a whole can bring to the user versus other models... -
Microsoft's new Surface Go is still not an iPad killer
deminsd said:tht said:Biggest issue I see in the product is running MS Office on a 10” display device isn’t a productive experience, and there are a lot of 13” Windows laptops that people can get for the same price. Windows applications in generation won’t be a good fit for 10” devices.
There doesn’t seem to be anything different strategy wise from MS’ attempts with the older generation 10” Surface devices.
I really think comparing the iPad to a Surface PRO/GO is comparing apples and oranges. An iPad isn't a computer replacement for most people and a Surface isn't a convenient touch device meant for media consumption (mostly due to Windows 10 and apps aren't touch-friendly). -
HomePod occupies 4 percent of smart speaker market as sector growth soars
Apple HomePod is great. I have this product in 4 rooms right now. The basic SIRI commands work good. I primarily use music request, set timer and add to list functions. All work great. The sound is fantastic. I would like SIRI functions to expand a bit and in a house of 5 people I would like multi user support. Linking to 1 Apple ID is tough for my specific case. I see marketshare increase due to quality of product and Apple ecosystem. -
macOS Mojave will drop support for some older Macs released before 2012

obsoleting Macs that are only 3 years old?
Though im not personally affected by that, it’s wrong. Very wrong.
I dig Mojave. Love how they are making it more compatible with iOS without merging the two, etc.
but... computers 6 years old and newer need to be able to upgrade.
Apple itself defines the timeframe of an obsolete computer and they aren’t even following their own protocol here.
i guess this is the Mac version of the iPhone 6/ios11 “batterygate.”
It will likely help nee macs to be purchased. But it’s wrong. And that’s coming from a long time Apple evangelist.
