  • Why Tesla can get by without CarPlay but other car makers can't

I don’t rent a car unless it has CarPlay. I am ready with my USB cable and all waypoints set as favorites in my Maps app.
The only way to go in a new city with least amount of errors and screwups.

  • Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone 18 years ago

I remember that Steve Jobs teased the iPhone presentation by mentioning that he was introducing three things. I think they were a music & video player, an Internet access device and a communication device. He repeated the three items a couple of times and then he gave up the secret that all three devices were actually. one device: the iPhone.

On June 27 that year, I woke up early and stood in line for 11 hours at the local AT&T store to get the first iPhone.  I was worried all the time if they had sufficient supplies for all the people in line before me and me. They did and I became a happy iPhone customer that day.

That was a fun year 2007. Remember they did not have initially Cut and Paste?

  • Advanced Data Protection will complicate new device setup this Christmas

I just enabled ADP on my iPad Pro M1, was told I have to wait a month before enabling for my iPhone 14 pro max and I still have not looked at my MacBook Pro 2016 which cannot run the latest Ventura system.

So some of the comments above are not true. I hope that my MacBook Pro does not have to be taken off the iCloud. I am going to call Apple to get the dope from the horse’s mouth so to speak.

  • T-Mobile users angered by iPhone 14 preorder failures

This time the Upgrade Program worked flawlessly. I completed the enrollment on Wednesday and then this morning I was ready to place my orders for two IPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB units.

The Apple Store on my iPhone was a little late to start but all I had to do press Checkout and the Place Order for each order and I was done in less than two minutes. Of course, my units will arrive on September 16.

Kudos to Apple for simplifying the process and not requiring any data entry. Smooth as silk.

  • iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max launch with ProMotion & Super Retina XDR display

The AppleInsider post states: “Pre-orders commence at 9 p.m. PDT on September 16”.

I was happy to see that because I did not have to get up early at 5am on September 17 to order the iPhone 13.  It made sense, 9pm PDT on September 16 is 12am EDT and September 17.

Later in the day, I started the pre-approval process after receiving an email from the Apple.  At the end the pre-approval process, I was told to come back at 5am on September 17 to complete the order.

I am confused. Now, AppleInsider has to confirm the correct iPhone 13 ordering start time.

Does anybody know the correct order start time?
