Broadcom to formally abandon Qualcomm bid, report says
As Apple continues moving away from QC and begins developing its own competing chips, how is this block going to help? Wouldn’t having a major company US-based also help taxes? And as far as ‘concerns’ go, why is TUSAGovt trying to open up iOS at the same time? This inconsistency needs to be resolved. -
Editorial: The mysterious curse of iPhone 6, lifted with... the headphone jack
larrya said:This long, rambling article turns out to be just another rationalization for headphone jack removal? Thanks for wasting my time promoting an excuse (reliability) that even Apple didn’t use (they mentioned it was a dinosaur, space, and waterproofing) in a debate that ended a year ago. It seems DED also thinks the bending problem is still debatable even with the hindsight that Apple strengthened the case for the 6s.
A lot of what Daniel writes about the marketplace, tech journalism, and paid studies seem right on the money, but his inability to see any flaws in Apple whatsoever destroys his credibility. -

The Smartphone Endgame: Who wins once shipment volumes peak?
The Wrong Street Journal caused me to misread then burst out laughing - excellent work again, Daniel! I'm curious - how is it that all those business graduates who work on Wrong Street and in Goophabet and Microsoft not recognise Apple's strategy, and begin implementing something similar? Jobs began talking about the humanities ten years ago, so I guess that is the answer, then. Cook is doing an amazing job with Apple, and I wish them all the best in tidying up the plethora of software issue that seem to swarm like gnats - no serious flaw, but certainly very irritating. I reckon Apple represents a new type of culture, and I believe they deserve their well-earned place under the sun. -

Once again, just one of the paragraph headings in Dilger's piece contains more information than most AI articles, and unlike those articles, is also witty! Great work, Daniel! The most interesting thing about Apple over its amazing rise through the past 18 years is the way a growing number of people, from all walks of life, are voting with their money saying, 'We don't want pieces of shit - we want quality!' No one else in China, Europe or TUSA have managed to produce anything as good as Apple. I imagine the future of Apple as providing the only viable source of technology, which is a HUGE improvement over the 90's and 00's where it was Microsoft. I really hope Apple can refine its software to the point where an update doesn't have random issues, and where there are no more bugs.
