'Resident Evil 7' creeps its way onto iPhone, iPad, and Mac
22july2013 said:Two things give me pause. (1) A privacy policy that says it takes my location, and other personal details, which seems totally unnecessary. (2) The lack of a price. They expect me to download a 31 GB program (62 GB free space required to install) without telling me what the price to play will be once I start playing it. The description says "A limited part of the base game can be played for free, but in order to play the full game an in-app purchase is required." but there is no indication of what that price will be. The lack of clarity is disturbing. I guess hiding the price gets them more sales, but I don't want to reward that behaviour. -
'Assassin's Creed Shadows' launches on Mac in November
I’ve been a fan of the Assassins Creed series from the first game, and this looks good, but I’m torn. Part of me wants to buy the Mac version, to support gaming on Mac and get developers to keep releasing good titles, an also because I sometimes miss my earliest gaming experiences, when I played games on my Mac in the mid 90’s. But another part of me knows the experience is much better on the Xbox, with a large OLED display and surround sound, sitting comfortably in the couch. That part will probably win.
But I love that AAA titles are starting to come to Apple devices, I hope it’s a trend that continues. -

At last Apple is dumping those pointless, wasteful stickers
I’m sort of the opposite to William. I work at an Apple reseller, and every time a customer didn’t want their stickers, or when we sometimes took in a trade-in with the original box and that still had the stickers, I felt compelled to keep them rather than throw them away. I must have hundreds of stickers at home by now, most of them white, but a few in other colors. I haven’t used many of them; back when I owned a car I put a few on that, I have a few on my mountain bike, and on an external USB drive. The rest is just in case I need some in the future.I think I have 2 of the original multi-colored ones from the 1980s, those I don’t want to use, just save.
But still, I’m glad they stopped including them for environmental reasons. Every little step is good. -
