  • AI-enhanced Apple Glass smart glasses set for 2026 release

There is zero chance that Apple is going to release some half-baked, Meta wannabe glasses.

  • OpenAI & Jony Ive's AI necklace rumored to have iPod shuffle form factor

So... let me see if I'm understanding this -- an iPod Shuffle-sized device on a necklace? So it would either have to be worn up high on your neck at a "choker" length, so that the cameras and mics aren't blocked by a shirt--or you wear it lower, but outside of your shirt to prevent the cameras and mics from being blocked. Yeah, no. I honestly don't know anyone, even the social media obsessed, who wants cameras and mics pointed at them which are not under their control. From my POV, that's always the thing that's not considered with devices like "dumb"glasses or whatever that are outfitted with cameras and mics. I have to think that Ive and Altman have something much smarter that they're considering than this.

  • Tantalizing details of Jony Ive's AI device leak after OpenAI meeting

So..  a device which collects data and even if I use iPhone or MacBook, this device will absorb and collect data from all users when connecting it with Apple products which makes Apple‘s privacy obsolete.

And this device gets smarter and smarter by learning with collected data.
It will be a personal device while Apple makes generally purposed devices.

I see that Apple stock is underperforming as the worst stock performer YTD among Magnificant 7.

Rotten Apple will feel the pressure. Better now than late: Tim Cook needs to step down as he can’t afford to doom Apple further and further since Vision Pro.

Thanks for reminding me that I needed to put your mindless drivel on "ignore"

  • iPhone 17 Air's battery life could be the shortest in years

The lacking battery has also raised the prospect of the revival of the iPhone battery case. Adding a second external battery in a thicker case would run counter to the aim of creating a thin smartphone, but it could be a fix for consumers who want the better device without sacrificing battery life.

BUT... it's not "the better device." It will carry a premium price like "the better device" but will have worse battery life, the same camera as the cheapest iPhone and will lack UWB 5G. The ONLY advantages to Air will be that it's 2mm thinner and an ounce lighter. And strapping a battery case to it would negate those advantages, so you just end up with a premium priced phone without premium features.

Despite the rumors to date saying otherwise, I continue to think/hope that Apple at least solved the battery life issue because it just seems too insane to debut a premium-priced phone that's less full-featured AND has shitty battery life.

  • CarPlay Ultra's first trial reveals a deeply integrated, Apple-like experience

    Great presentation!

Multiple choice quiz: Car manufacturers are a) clueless about UI design, b) unmotivated, c) lazy, d) cheap, e) all of the above. I can understand why they are leery of handing over too much control to Apple, but it seems Apple's SDK is cooperative rather than absolute.
I pick choice F) -- none of the above. I hate to say it, because I was hoping it would fail miserably, but it hasn't at all, and now GM is the new North Star for automakers. Meaning: GM started by recognizing their own "cluelessness" in developing a great infotainment system and monetizing customer data, so they partnered with Google to help them. And now they have a solid system the generates a steady stream of post-sale revenue by selling subscriptions to the most desirable infotainment features while monetizing the tons of customer data that modern computerized cars are capable of collecting--which buyers have given GM the complete right to do when they signed the giant EULA upon picking up their new car. The lack of support for CarPlay and Android Auto does not seem to have affected GM sales at all. And here's the thing: Google is only too happy to help car companies design a system that will abuse consumer privacy and data to generate profits--Google is the co-King of that, along with Meta. Apple, to its credit, isn't going to go there, but that's going to make CarPlay Ultra a much harder sell.
