If Apple has serious heartburn about this law it could easily pull out of the country. A short-term loss of sales (population 25 million) would barely put a dent in their bottom line. Aussies would then rally against the law and get it repealed. They need to call the lawmaker's bluff!

The US military has been 100% volunteer since 1973 and less than 10% of adults (probably close to 7%) in the US have served in the military. Fortunately a reasonable number of people/companies choose to honor those service members. It's certainly a lot better now than in the 1980s and 1990s when I was active duty and got discounts on nothing.

On a similar note, if everyone gets a discount then effectively nobody gets a discount. There has to be some selectivity.

If anyone here remembers the Sinclair ZX80 or Timex Sinclair TS1000 -- now those had real chiclet keyboards; just about impossible to use.

Looks like a great machine -- I just wish it also came in a 15" model. The MBP is overkill for my needs (and my wallet) except for the screen real estate. It's such a big jump in price to go from an Apple 13" to 15" laptop right now.

However, 64GBs RAM, 2TB flash, 6-Core i7 and the T2, (love all that!), if it’s not $2500 for the high end model I’ll buy a pair. And please, no more soldering parts Apple please. I’m still using modified 2009 Mac Pros for a reason.

@nightwatch : should every component be socketed, wire-wrapped, or proto-boarded together? If socketed, then how are the connections for the socket base made without solder?
