  • Apple working with Consumer Reports on MacBook Pro battery findings, says Phil Schiller

I am glad this has happened. Apple can not ignore these test results from Consumer Reports. Whenever I have made a claim about an Apple product to AppleCare, they seem to express the claim as a surprise. "We never heard this before" is always their initial response. I am concerned because Apple will try to discredit CR then try and solve the problem. I do not trust Schiller... he is in charge of marketing hence "the cover up."  Sorry, Tim Cook should be addressing this issue.
... If there is an issue at all. Apple can clearly describe the tests the battery estimations are based on. CR cannot clearly explain their tests. And this is all this article is about.

Here are Apple's explanations. Footnote #2 quoted below :
    http://www.apple.com/macbook-pro/specs/
    1. ...
    2. Testing conducted by Apple in October 2016 using preproduction 2.0GHz dual-core Intel Core i5-based 13-inch MacBook Pro systems with a 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM (wireless web test, iTunes movie playback test, and standby test). Testing conducted by Apple in October 2016 using preproduction 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5-based 13-inch MacBook Pro systems with a 512GB SSD and 8GB of RAM (wireless web test and iTunes movie playback test) and preproduction 2.9GHz dual-core Intel Core i5-based 13-inch MacBook Pro systems with a 256GB SSD and 8GB of RAM (standby test). The wireless web test measures battery life by wirelessly browsing 25 popular websites with display brightness set to 12 clicks from bottom or 75%. The iTunes movie playback test measures battery life by playing back HD 1080p content with display brightness set to 12 clicks from bottom or 75%. The standby test measures battery life by allowing a system, connected to a wireless network and signed in to an iCloud account, to enter standby mode with Safari and Mail applications launched and all system settings left at default. Battery life varies by use and configuration. See www.apple.com/batteries for more information.
Thank you for this information. I read the contents of the websites you provided but it is nothing more than Apple's marketing literature. It says in the first website you provided ...up to 10 hours of battery life under certain conditions. I do not care about Apple's marketing. CR found a inconsistency which should be looked into. That's all. Quit defending blindly. There may be something here. Apple claims they have a 99% approval rating... then prove it. No salesmanship hype...real facts. Quit drawing the wagons around Apple. They are big boys now and have been for awhile. They do not need you to defend them. So just relax and let's see what comes of this.

  • Phil Schiller: New MacBook Pro has more orders from Apple than any other pro model ever

What did you expect Mr Schiller to say about the Macbook Pro sales. I do not believe a thing anyone from Apple says. Of course they got a lot of orders. It is the newest greatest notebook Apple ever created until the customer returns the unit. Apple sales always tells the customer that we have 2 weeks to test the unit out. I am sure that is what is happening here. None of these Touch Bar units are in the stores yet. How else can the customer see the product. Apple always has a delay in fulfilling these orders. Currently there is a 4 to 5 week delay. This is Apple's way of creating buzz about the Macbook Pro or any other product by manufacturing a false backlog. This is a marketing ploy. What is the most offensive thing Apple has done is raising the prices on these models by $300 to $500 depending on the configuration. A fully loaded Touch Bar 15" MBP can be over $4100. That's is insane. This maybe a great notebook but the Apple tax is just too damn much this time. PC's have comparable units with more choices & configurations. PC's are also cheaper by at least 1/2 to 2/3 of Apple prices.

  • Watch: A closer look at Apple's late-2016 MacBook Pro lineup

The new Macbook Pro is not that great of an improvement. The touch bar is cool but nothing innovative. It is a gimmick. The fact that you can not plug your iPhone into the Macbook Pro is silly. You need an adapter for that. How much will that cost? $79 maybe. That is ridiculous. Or need to buy a Belkin dock for what $200 or more. That is insane. Someone asked about if the flash storage can be replaced... I called Apple sales and was told that the RAM, Flash Storage and the GPU are all soldered onto the Motherboard. The RAM is still at 16 GB limit. No flexibilty for the future if you want to increase your RAM or Flash Storage later. This is an overpriced machine with a gimmick. It took 3 years to create this version of the Macbook Pro, Wow. What a joke. I guess it going to take a year or two more to update the rest of the limited Mac computer line up. Apple really knows what it is doing. Something simple as making sure your iPhone can plug into the Macbook Pro is not an oversight but Apple wanting to increase it's margins. Apple you should be ashamed of yourselves.

  • Apple CEO Tim Cook to appear on 'Good Morning America,' says AirPods stay put during exercise

I am sorry but I do not believe a word Tim Cook says. Those AirPods appear to have the same shape as the EarPods. The EarPods do not fit in my ear securely. It pops out all the time without help from snagging cords. Once again, to improve their margins, all Apple did was recycle the EarPod design without the wires. $159 for those AirPods is insane. They should be free. Apple is forcing this change on us.  All I  will be seeing in the future is people walking around with one AirPod in their ear looking for the other AirPod like we look for our missing sock, Nothing innovative here.
first of you're full of shit with the innovation remark. troll trope nonsense.  second, not all ears are the same and just because these were made for most people doesn't mean they suck for not working with yours. third, the price is very mid. fourth, change happens, so stop whining like a small child.
I have no idea what your problem is. You do not agree with me, Okay! You have a foul mouth though. Your attack on me is not going to stop me from expressing my opinions about Apple or any other company I have a concern for.  If Apple is wanting to embrace the "future" by going wireless then make sure the products made fit properly for all your customers. The price is not mid at all. It is at least 60 or 70 dollars overpriced. Oh yes change happens but at what expense. I do not feel Apple is being truthful about why the change is necessary. The headphone jack is not really that big of a component. Apple said it needed to make room for stereo speakers and bigger battery. It also helped towards the waterproofing of the iPhone 7. Come on Tim that is a crock. It is about money and about increasing the sales margins.
