  • Volkswagen makes iPhone internal standard, Capital One adopts Mac & Apple Watch

Being associated with the disgraced Volkswagen Group is not something to brag about.
Oh come on now. Whatever manipulation VW did was definitely not worse than what any other car manufacturer has been doing for many years (and maybe on an even bigger scale). VW was just the unlucky one to be caught and publicly criticized and I'm by no means defending what VW did, but if you want to be completely fair, let's judge all car companies for their shady activities. And I say this while not even owning (or even liking) VW as a car brand. And I don't know how about the US, but here in Europe I believe all the negative press actually helped VW and their sales (I would even say this was one of the main reasons they recently became the #1 car maker worldwide). So if this article is really true then that's a huge achievement imho, VW is an ENORMOUS company and having Apple products as corporate standard... RESPECT Tim Cook & co.

  • Beats 1 host Zane Lowe sees a future with multiple Apple-hosted live radio stations

I can honestly say I have discovered more quality music through Beats 1 than through all and any other sources combined. All I can say is keep up the great work.

Apple Music is the only service that actually WORKS. Spotify is a pile of mess and so are all other similar services, including Google Play Music or Deezer. At least those are the ones I have been using for an extended period of time. Ugly user interface that's hard to navigate, misleading search results, incomplete discographies, slow and buggy offline downloading. All of those services claim to have 30-40 million songs, but Apple Music is the only one where I actually always find stuff I'm looking for (especially when we're not talking about Top 40 type of music), the other ones usually have exactly the same poor search results. As a matter of a fact, with Google Play Music you're actually better off simply using YouTube, makes absolutely no sense to pay for their Play Music. On the other hand, I'm more than happy to pay my Apple Music family plan and I simply don't see any competition here.
If there is one thing where the Spotify is miles ahead of apple, is the user interface.  And it not just me who is saying it.  Look to all decent reviews
Seriously, I don't need to form my judgement based on some user reviews, I have been using both services long enough to make my own judgement. If Spotify works better for you, fine, but please, don't tell me it's better because user reviews say so. That's the lamest argument ever and you know it.

Are you still believing that Apple just WORKS?
I have the spinning wheel on my Mac once a three days....

Spotify is so much better than Apple Music. Better structured, it's so much easier to find everything. There are user playlists. You can share your own playlist, and it can be easily discovered by others. My playlist has now almost 12.000 subscribers.
I tried Apple Music twice (when it just came out, and after they refreshed it}. They have just 'cleaner' design. But as user experience - they are so much worse.

To each his own, right? So much easier to find everything you say? Especially when tons of albums don't even exist on Spotify to begin with, right? Playlist sharing I don't care about at all honestly, it'll sound selfish, but first and foremost I use this service because of my own music needs, not because I want or need to create playlists for others. Likewise, I don't need others to tell me what I should like or listen to, so this social element of streaming services is probably only good for casual listeners who need some guidance.

I think Apple should offer a free, ad-based tier (not just a free limited time trial) I'd like to give it another try.
Not even Google, the ad-based company, does that with their Play Music service. If you're seriously expecting Apple to offer an ad-based service of any kind, then you seriously never understood Apple's philosophy.
