  • Reddit got hacked, and that's not even the most ludicrous news about it today

Does anyone know if this change at Reddit has occurred because AI LLMs have mined Reddit for conversational language free of charge?  I am assuming they use the APIs to do this and Reddit wants a piece of the action?

    Just asking.
Some have claimed that - but most of the LLM's just used HTML scraping to pull data from everywhere - much more general grabbing of data from much of the internet than having to figure out APIs for many different sites.  The API's are more for Reddit specific Apps or Bots.

  • iOS 17 is getting some giant new accessibility features

These are some nice additions - I know several people with low-vision that will like the larger icons and larger text for sure.

  • Stop us if you've heard this before: There's a new Apple Silicon killer in town

To me it looks like if you compare on TDP that the new AMD processor should be compared against the M2 Pro rather than the plain M2 (at least a couple sources I found put the M2 Pro at about the same 28 Watts maximum) - and then the performance is more comparable as well.

  • AirTag foils $1.1 million armed robbery of an armored truck

None of them had iPhones? How come they weren't warned that an AirTag was following them?

Or does an AirTag have to following someone for a very long time before the warning happens?

Would you bring a device that tracks your location at all times and logs it, while you are doing something illegal?

Without location tracking on, and probably bluetooth, you wouldn't get the notification that the AirTag was travelling with you.

I’d really like to see hardwired Ethernet support. I have a good wireless network but wireless isn’t everything. I have lots of hubs and wireless protocols already going on in my networking closet where my whole whole amplifier is, I don’t want to have to rely on wireless, and don’t want to have to spend $600 on a Sonos amp or $450 on a Sonos port.
Completely agree, I have 3 Airport Express for Airplay I have wired.  As well as main stereo receiver wired. I do have one Airport Express setup for wireless - it only gets used for Halloween.  Wire everything that can be, more bandwidth then for things that can't be wired.
