  • Apple patent for ultrasonic force sensor could lead to iPhone with under-screen Touch ID

Wouldn't the IPad make a better use case to implement the under screen finger print technology than future iphone models to get the bezel less screens and not having to put the expensive face ID tech into the already expensive iPad Pro models?
Face Id may be elegant, future proof solution for iPhone X, Xs, etc than under screen touch id may be solution for iPhone 8s and ipad Apple don't have to make all future iPhones,iPad with face id. Let two parallel iPhone series continue to exist. Such two implementation can give Apple flexibility with spreading features and associated pricing while it give users choice and differential cost/affordability benefit. If Craig Federighi says Apple had under screen touch id as plan B than Apple already have that working in lab. Just move it to real products.

  • Intel opens fire in solo ITC filing in support of Apple and calls Qualcomm 'abusive,' anti...

Qualcomm has right to defend it's IP as well ask for fair/reasonable compensation. Either you buy from someone or develop your own. It appears, Qualcomm is in jam when too many strong fighting against.

  • Apple Mac sales slip in Q2 despite new hardware launches

Apple knows better but in my opinion, Apple needs to make low end one model each(13" and 15") Macbook Pro with 8GB, 256GB at decent price point. These macbooks than become goto Macbook pro for very large group of users who care less about performance, bells-whistle but reasonable price and loves MBP/MacOS. Later in their life, the same group of people when upgrade their MBP, they would buy higher end models.

  • Review: Apple's new Kaby Lake 13" MacBook Pro without Touch Bar unexpectedly speedy vs. 20...

It definitely nice Apple kept starting price of 13" non-touch at $1299. That $1299 for 13" macbook pro is a magical sweet spot number, Don't know why ? Hidden wish of potential new/upgrade buyers was 256GB SSD standard(and OK not discounted to students). May be next time. Other point is to provide the same number of USB ports on all Macbooks Pro. Reasons are first not having 'those'(HDMI,Ethernet, etc) ports and when customer start upgrading processor/RAM/SSD to non-touch $1299 Macbook Pro than it reaches around $2000. Would you expect $2000 laptop with 3-4 USB-C ports ? Doesn't cost much to add 1-2 extra ports.
