    This is Pro?
I didn't know Pro meant removable storage? I wonder how many times someone has actually changed their storage later on?
Pro means the user knows something about their tools. Over the years, I've upgraded the internal storage (HD/SSD and RAM) many times with my 3 MBPs! Even once with the 2012 retina model, because Apple's 768 GB SSD option was too pricey. I waited and got a 1 TB upgrade for less than the 768 GB upgrade.
to me Pro means "i make money with this tool", and in no shop I've ever worked in have we had time to futz around with DIY tinkering on our gear. whenever we outgrow a machine we swap it out and move on w/ our work.

    tinkering is for enthusiasts.

pro enterprise software dev here, let me chime in. never -- never is the number of times I've later changed the storage on my MBPs. or any of my client-issued PC laptops, for that matter. they have a lifespan and once its expired i or they replace it. it's that simple.

...to prevent a long, long slide for Apple.
So that is your prediction? SJ died 5 years ago. Go look at a 5 year stock chart. AAPL is currently up over 97% during that time.
Oh please. During the last five years, Google is up 171%, Facebook up 268%, Microsoft up 143%, Amazon up 306%. Heck, the S&P500 is up 87%.

So it's no great shakes. Just sayin'.... since you brought it up.
so because other companies are also delivering value...it somehow means apple's success is less? what an odd, irrational thought. i'd call that....nonsense.

  • Dual-lens cameras expected on both Apple's OLED and 5.5" LCD 2017 iPhone models

yeah right. two 5.5" models, but with different screen tech? not gonna happen. apple doesnt toss up differences like these expecting the customer to decide which is better. they instead decide which is better and present it to the customer.

this dude may have access to supply chain leakers, but he has no idea how apple rolls.

"Can you imagine a 27-inch iMac where you have to reach over the air to try to touch and do things? That becomes absurd. You can't optimize for both."

Seriously, go to a Microsoft store and try one. It's pretty damn awesome and works well as both a touch surface and iMac like computer. I have loved Apple products, but it seems they have just way too much hubris now. They think if they can't do it, it cannot be done.
sorry, but no. that thing sucks because even the raised position is so low to the table -- you have to look down at it, rather than forward. as a non-drawer that sucks for normal use. not ergonomic at all. and can you mount it on a VESA arm? (i use my iMacs arm-mounted).

She is standing up. A chair would change things.

I do think reaching out to touch a computer monitor would be hard on the back though.
I seriously can't believe we're debating the height of the screen as a criticism against. My iMac is sitting on a lift as I work at a standing desk.

Moreover, if we were to start using hybrid touch panel PCs, we'd learn to work differently. Not everyone would need such a thing, and the rest of us would probably start working in more of a drafting table experience. Heck, I already use two monitors at my job, so one would be ideally placed at an angle in front of me, and the other directly above it for strictly referencing things. As far as hard on the back? I suppose it could be. But that all depends on how much interaction a person would have with it.
why on earth wouldnt be debate it? if the Surface is meant to be used as in their own photo above, then its a fail when it comes to daily computing. you should not be staring down at your display, you should be staring forward at it.
