Apple accused of avoiding paying UK $700 million in taxes
Honkers said:timpetus said:I cannot understand the mentality of TaxWatch and organizations like it.
Weird.
No. Then these idiots should work to change the tax codes. Sorry. As a shareholder, I do not want any company paying a penny more in taxes than legally required.

Goldman Sachs regrets Apple Card, and is trying to escape the deal
rob53 said:omasou said:Since when has airing your dissatisfaction publicly help to attract a company to take ownership of your problem child? /s
EDIT: Love the card, love the customer service, love the Apple Cash/Savings, love the first of the month billing. The only reason I can fathom for so much whining is maybe b/c Apple customers pay their bills and GS isn't making "as much" from interest and fees?
Not sure it has much to do with purchasing Apple products. Only the tiniest percentage of my card use is for Apple purchases. It's my primary card for anything I need to charge.

Apple TV+ cancels 'The Afterparty' after two seasons
Xed said:I enjoyed both seasons and fully expected a cancelation. It's not something you easily keep rehashing. If I have one question is why hadn't anyone thought to do a Rashomon-style narrative for a murder mystery a long time ago?
That wasn't until season two, where they mimiic different directors filming styles.
Each episode was also filmed in different ways, using the language of film genres to differentiate between the retelling by each suspect.
At least I have the next Agatha Christie murder mystery directed by Branagh to look forward to when it hits streaming. -
New AirPods Pro 2 with USB-C vs AirPods Pro 2 - compared
mayfly said:I bought the Airpods Pro 2 for two things:- Active Noise Cancellation
- Conversation Boost.
The ANC is a total bust. There is virtually no noise cancellation apparent, no matter how it's optimized. Drugstore earplugs @25¢ each work better. Conversation Boost doesn't work at all against ambient noise, either.
