  • iPhone 15 cases may be synthetic leather, but these 'FineWoven' cases probably aren't it

"Apple will no longer be making leather iPhone cases"
I don't beilieve Apple ever actually made leather anything. They pay someone else to make them.
That said, I've never bought an Apple branded case for anything. There are plenty to choose from in the aftermarket, and they're all less expensive, have tons more options, and many are as high quality as Apple's branded offerings.

Still don't think leather is the best material for iPhone cases. A grippy rubber or plastic case has the best functionality.

Different strokes... I only use leather cases, usually Apple's. "Grippy" rubber or silcone cases do not easily slide into my pockets and generally look cheap and/or industrial. Don't need it to survive a fall from an airplane.

  • Fake leather cases for iPhone 15 surface weeks before launch

If you want leather, buy it from Nomad. Apple's cases have plummeted in quality, paralleling many of their quality declines of late. Both their leather and silicone cases have become unusable as they don't even last a year before falling apart.
So not true. My heavily used leather case that I bought with my 12 Pro still looks great. Almost 2-years old now.
    I guess you're a Nomad shill.

  • What the iPhone 15 Pro in gray titanium could look like

Natural titanium gray can hardly be called a "markedly new color".

  • Apple Pay keeps growing, but can't catch Visa or Paypal

Amazing how people here are confusing the payment processing (Apple Pay) with the payment method and the Apple credit card.

I use Apple Pay with my bank's debit card for most in-person purchases, wherever Apple Pay is accepted.
I use Apple Pay with my Apple, or any other credit card, for any purchases I want to put on a credit card, in person and online wherever Apple Pay is accepted.
I use my debit card manually whenever Apple Pay is not available at a store. This happens less and less these days.
I use my credit card of choice manually whenever Apple Pay is not available at a store or online. This still happens occasionally. Looking at you Home Depot and most restaurants.

  • Apple could offer Thunderbolt cable for iPhone 15 Pro as separate purchase

FWIW, I think this is likely. As mentioned in the article, all the Lightning cords included with iPhones thus far (going waaaay back) charge just fine, but can only do USB 2.0 data speeds.

Most of those end up in a drawer anyway, at least since MagSafe was introduced to the iPhone line. Qi-style charging has taken over in our household, for certain.

A short TB cable as an optional purchase (or substitution) wouldn't add much to the price -- Apple's existing one costs $49 (for the 0.8m/2.7 feet version), and comparable ones cost the same or more (except for plugable, which sells one for $36). If you have 4K HDR iPhone video footage you want to move over to the Mac Studio, you'd pay that in a heartbeat compared to growing a beard while you wait for the included USB 2-speed cable to do the job, or grow a moustache while you wait for AirDrop to do it.

The plebs will be fine with the included USB-Slow cable, while the rest of us pay a bit more to take advantage of the full capabilities of that new port (if these rumours are true, obviously). Anyone who's ever bought a hub has been similarly "ripped off" by Apple.
In our household, wireless charging is rarely used. We almost always need to use the phone while it's charging and if there's going to be a cable, a direct connection is still faster than a Magsafe puck at the end of a wire. I do use MagSafe when I travel and in the car.
