    The only people who push for side loading are criminals. Thieves and scammers are chomping at the bit as unaware consumers begin clicking on ads that will look like legit apps but downloading malware and other malicious software. Who would even want an app from a developer who is too lazy or cheap to go through the app store process?!

    Skype had one and only one purpose for me. It allowed me to make calls over WiFi when I was traveling overseas more than a decade ago. Back then, it was prohibitively expensive and/or difficult to make traditional cell calls, especially from Asia.

    Please don't presume to speak for every user. My home did not have a doorbell. Running hard-wired power would be impractically difficult and therefore very expensive for me. So, I currently use a Ring doorbell and two batteries which I swap out about every 6-8 weeks. People asking for a battery-powered option or version would probably constitute about half the potential sales. In the past, it was claimed the HomeKit couldn't be done with batteries because the batteries would have to be changed too frequently. 

    If Apple or someone else was able to overcome that issue, it would be great. Right now, my doorbell is the only device I can't control through the Home app.
