  • Apple Watch bands harbor dangerous bacteria -- because no one cleans them

I take off my band and put it in the dishwasher in with the silverware, comes out looking like new.

That might be OK for the rubber watch bands. For the cloth bands, I tie it in a sock and throw it in the laundry.
Laundry detergent is far less abrasive than dishwasher detergent. That's why you are not supposed to put good knives in the dishwasher.

This is what I want for the Apple TV…for it to present as a smart display while it sits idle.

    Exactly!
Plus, all of my Macs are in home office space while my TV is in family space. It would be nice to be able to sequence through security and doorbell cameras from the TV when I’m in the family room/kitchen/dining space.

It kinda does already. I agree, that having full Home control in stand-by would be awesome, However, you can currently view all you're HK cameras through the Apple TV and even control devices in those rooms. Also can turn scenes on and off.

  • Amazon gets slap on the wrist over privacy violations with Ring cameras

Actually, between the Ring doorbell and Alexa cases that were settled, the total fines are $30.8MM. A little less paltry.

Maybe it will just be a pretty picture since the actual home automation software doesn’t work.
    Really? How so?

I have an admittedly simpler HomeKit setup (few lights, couple of plugs, automations based on temperature changes) and it seems to work fine.

Works fine in much larger setups too. My system includes many outlets, bulbs, cameras, thermostat and various sensors.

  • Hands on with the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro designs

Apple does not release info to third-party accessory companies before launch. Therefore, these mock-ups are just a best guess by someone trying to be ready as close to the launch day as possible. In fact, they probably have several mock-ups, of slightly different proportions, ready to go into production as soon as the phones are introduced.
