Weak demand for MacBook, Apple Watch, AirPods may have caused order cuts
Madbum said:TheSparkle said:I doubt anything will change, but Apple’s pricing policy is not in keeping for folks faced with increased heating bills, increased prices and wages not keeping pace with any of it. All of my previously comfortable Apple subs are under review. I’m making do with my older phone for another year. Much coveted AirPods Max are a no-go for the foreseeable*. Etc.*First world problems, I know
it is our monetary policy as well as administration engaging in a foreign war in Ukraine that is keeping up pricing pressures.
Did you see the news that Zelensky signed law to bar all dissenting news media and reporters? This on top of him arresting any Ukrainian men trying to leave the country?
There is no democracy between these two, we should stay out and stop letting Americans suffer
Huh?! So, the Russians steamrolling across Europe would reduce pricing pressures?!

Apple has its own social networking services, but won't call them that
After a few failed attempts to be truly "social," the company's approach is now focused on smaller "communities" of friends, family, or other groups.
That's all I ever cared about anyway.

AirTags catch United Airlines in lie about missing luggage
hammeroftruth said:It was worth buying a 4 pack just throw a
few in my family’s luggage and confirm they were on the plane with us when we went on vacation.I just did the same thing. No issues with my luggage, fortunately, but I did learn a lot about how Air Tags worked since it was the first time any of my tagged items were'separated" from me. Each time I received a notification and the bags were where they were supposed to be I stopped the alerts for that location. Was very happy with the whole process. -
Kuo casts doubt on fourth-gen iPhone SE 2024 release date
M68000 said:charlesn said:I would have thought the SE was an important "gateway drug" model for Apple, especially in emerging markets--sure, it's not nearly as profitable as an iPhone pro, but it gets people into the Apple ecosystem, where they're likely to stay once introduced. It was also an interesting way for Apple to repackage iPhone tech from a generation or two back as a "new" phone, so budget customers didn't feel like they were buying an outdated model. Time will tell, and I'm sure Apple's decision, whatever it is, will be driven by their consumer data.
In addition, with the demise of the iPod Touch, an SE with no cell activation is often used in work environments like stores, restaurants and warehouses. -
Apple has two big CarPlay problems
jamnap said:I really like using wireless Car Play in my BM, especially Maps which is always more up to date than BM OEM navigation. But there seems to be a volume level issue with Car Play and I do not like the cartoonist/Disney-like icons/colors displayed when Car Play is in use. Wish I had more options to change icon sizes, colors and background display. Guess Apply wants Car Play images to really stand out just like their refrigerator white-only Airpods.
Where do you drive where you can notice that Apple's maps are "always more up to date than BMW OEM navigation"?! BMW updates the navigation at least quarterly.
