  • Apple no longer selling 2015 Apple TV HD

Considering the new pricing tiers, this makes perfect sense to finally have a replacement to the base model.

Too bad it means the 2015 models probably only have 2 years of software support left.

Probably more than that. Still get updates for the ATV3. Problem with ATV is the closed nature of the apps, so the apps themselves have stopped trying to support the ATV3. I've had mine for 10+ years. Doesn't get much use nowadays, but Apple has kept it functional.

  • New Apple TV 4K with A15, HDR10+, more storage debuts

I have the first gen 4K model and really don’t plan to upgrade. Yes Thread and Matter is nice, but the A10X is still a beast. I don’t really game on it so the bigger storage doesn’t matter to me that much. I have a HomePod Mini that I can use for Thread.

The more Thread devices throughout the home, the more reliable the network.

  • Netflix ad-supported streaming plan has arrived

Limiting it to 720p content makes it much less interesting.
Well, $20/mo for 4K and Dolby Vision/HDR is even less interesting.
Not really. I much prefer the 4K content when available. You can also have more devices playing simultaneously.

  • Big Apple TV+ shows are coming to Blu-ray starting Oct. 31 [u]

Buying the few series you want on bluray will be a much better deal than a monthly subscription that doesn’t get used much.

Season 2 would come to about $26 USD, if it was releases in the US at the same price. That's 5 months of Apple TV+. Unless you would expect to watch the series multiple times (who really does that?) Paying for a month or two of ATV+ and watching the entire series is far more cost effective.

  • iPhone 15 Ultra rumored to have two front cameras and USB-C

A wide angle lens on the front camera would certainly make group selfies a little easier.
