  • Apple hikes Apple One cost by up to $5 as most services prices rise

Apple One never made sense for just two people in the family.
We only use Music, TV+ and Fitness. Fitness and TV+ already allow multiple users and rarely, if ever, have both of us wanted to use Music at the same time, separately.
I always do the annual subscriptions and save two months worth of payments. We each use the $0.99 iCloud.

  • Goldman Sachs regrets Apple Card, and is trying to escape the deal

Since when has airing your dissatisfaction publicly help to attract a company to take ownership of your problem child? /s

EDIT: Love the card, love the customer service, love the Apple Cash/Savings, love the first of the month billing. The only reason I can fathom for so much whining is maybe b/c Apple customers pay their bills and GS isn't making "as much" from interest and fees?
Last part is the key. Maybe, just maybe, people who buy Apple products are better at personal finances than non-Apple product users. I'm retired drawing social security and some IRA distributions every once in awhile but my credit score is in the 800's because I pay off my bills every month and don't have a ton of credit cards maxed out. I'm surprised my credit score is so high because I'm not the type of person who pays lots of interest every month. That's the type of person credit card companies love because that's how they make money. Growing up my bank gave me 5% interest on savings accounts but now they don't give you anything, depending on credit card interest income to survive. I would like to see Goldman Sach's interest income on the Apple Card to see what percentage of Apple Card users pay off every month. I assume by Goldman Sach's comments, way too many do. If this is the case, Apple should do a serious investigation into being a credit card company since it might not cost them very much.

Not sure it has much to do with purchasing Apple products. Only the tiniest percentage of my card use is for Apple purchases. It's my primary card for anything I need to charge.

  • Apple launched AirPods eight years ago, and changed the world again

"Nobody even remembers the Lighting to headphone adapter"

Not true at all. My wife has yet to find a wireless, in-ear headphone that she finds comfortable and will stay in her ear while even simple walking, never mind a real workout.
She has a Lightning and a USB C to headphone jack so she can use her wired headphones with her phone or iPad.

And I do still see other people with them occasionally, for whatever reason.

  • What the iPhone 15 Pro in gray titanium could look like

Natural titanium gray can hardly be called a "markedly new color".

  • Apple could offer Thunderbolt cable for iPhone 15 Pro as separate purchase

FWIW, I think this is likely. As mentioned in the article, all the Lightning cords included with iPhones thus far (going waaaay back) charge just fine, but can only do USB 2.0 data speeds.

Most of those end up in a drawer anyway, at least since MagSafe was introduced to the iPhone line. Qi-style charging has taken over in our household, for certain.

A short TB cable as an optional purchase (or substitution) wouldn't add much to the price -- Apple's existing one costs $49 (for the 0.8m/2.7 feet version), and comparable ones cost the same or more (except for plugable, which sells one for $36). If you have 4K HDR iPhone video footage you want to move over to the Mac Studio, you'd pay that in a heartbeat compared to growing a beard while you wait for the included USB 2-speed cable to do the job, or grow a moustache while you wait for AirDrop to do it.

The plebs will be fine with the included USB-Slow cable, while the rest of us pay a bit more to take advantage of the full capabilities of that new port (if these rumours are true, obviously). Anyone who's ever bought a hub has been similarly "ripped off" by Apple.
In our household, wireless charging is rarely used. We almost always need to use the phone while it's charging and if there's going to be a cable, a direct connection is still faster than a Magsafe puck at the end of a wire. I do use MagSafe when I travel and in the car.
