Tim Cook's fundraiser for presidential candidate Hillary Clinton set for tonight
redefiler said:Either way, vote Clinton or Trump votes are merely a public affirmation that you're a partisan idiot.
Just do the right thing in November and vote Libertarian. Everybody needs more Johnson.
I won't bother to get into his pretty remarkable record in Mew Mexico as a legislator, nor the fact he might be the only living politician who has ever effectively balanced a budget.
All you need to know are these advantages over Hillary and The Donald:
1. He behaves like an adult
2. He isn't a scumbag
3. He's not a criminal
4. He's not an idiot
Agreed 1000%. Trump has pretty much hijacked and destroyed the Republican Party, which is fine by me because they are/were a total mess and had completely lost their way. Good riddance. If nothing else, maybe Trump is what was needed to make the GOP powers that be face the reality of racism and xenophobia within the party base. I don't believe the Republican Party is inherently racist, but it has been more than happy to wink in that direction to capture the extreme right's votes. Trump is the reality check the party needed. Hopefully they'll take a long hard look in the mirror after this is all said and done.
And Clinton...what can we say that hasn't already been said? A vote for her guarantees we continue our slow race to the bottom as a nation (while she and her cronies line their pockets). She's the most ethically/morally bankrupt person in politics, yet so many people are willing to overlook this because 1) she has a vagina, or 2) she's better than Trump, or 3) both. It's a sad commentary on how far we've fallen as a country that so many people are willing to vote for someone they don't respect, don't like, and don't trust simply out of fear. People talk about Clinton's "experience", but if you look at her actual record, it's a disaster. Yes, she's managed to stay politically relevant for decades, but she's accomplished a whole lot of nothing (unless you consider failing at healthcare reform only to turn around and line one's pocket with Big Pharma money, doing nothing as a senator other than padding one's political resume, and further destabilizing the Middle East accomplishments).
A vote for either of these losers is a vote for America's downward spiral to continue. Johnson/Weld, on their worst day, are far more experienced and accomplished than either Clinton or Trump. We have a choice. We do NOT have to support the status quo that is slowly eating away at our country like a cancer while a teeny tiny group of people get ridiculously rich at everyone else's expense. -
Apple services stand out as bright spot in otherwise rough Q2
canukstorm said:rogifan_new said:I still believe it's BS and so does my Twitter feed of Apple bloggers and pundits. Services are there to augment devices not replace them as the main revenue driver. If you think the future of Apple in terms of revenue growth is IAP games then Apple is in deep trouble. And let's face it there's nothing exciting about saying revenue grew because people handed down their iPhone or iPad and those people are now buying apps. It will be really depressing if Apple implements some paid placement for search just to offset declining hardware sales. -
KGI says 'iPhone 7' won't have 'many attractive selling points,' predicts competitors to outperform
rich gregory said:Anyone have the time to keep track of the predictions and outcomes? I think a website that tracked analysts with a Rotten Tomatoes style rating would be a handy tool. Then, when someone is cited as saying something we could look him/her up and see the track record they have earned.
Until someone holds analysts accountable in SOME way they can pretty much say anything. This is the internet age, the age of accountability. Why doesn't this exist? Or does it and I'm an idiot (options are not mutually exclusive).
This happens every time a new iPhone is ready to roll out. Even with the SE you can find articles saying Apple sells out at the same time as it's a disappointment. F'n noise everywhere.
Like cali posted... every %^&*() year.....
Analysts are in the prediction/opinion business. I pay attention to a few Apple analysts because, over time, they have proven themselves somewhat accurate. Plenty are full of **** and I ignore them. Yes, there is a lot of noise, but if you take the emotion out of it, some of these opinions can be useful.
The problem with fanboy logic is that anything negative is automatically an attack. Very childish. -

These analysts have nothing to lose and are never called on any wrong comments by the SEC or any government agency anywhere in the world. People are sued for slander and libel all the time but I've never heard analysts being sued for anything. Unless Kuo has paid informants in every supplier Apple uses, he has no way of knowing what Apple will or won't do. He's only guessing but his guesses are used to swing stock markets prices and are making huge impacts on a company's livelihood. I know nothing will ever be done but this has to stop. -
